Are you looking for a chicago car dealers? Check out the Trusted Automotive Market Place LemonFree.com

Q: I have shopped for a new car and I have found that 1 out of about 20 dealers is $1k less than the rest. Why?
I have been pricing a 2007 Sonata. I live in Chicago and have visited and done pricing through e-mail (which has the best results). Everyone came down to $15,500 or so and one out of like 20 dealers quoted me at $14,550. I would like to know how she can go so low. I got this quote online and haven’t actually seen the car. But she says it is brand new with the exact features I want and the same colors.

A: May have to meet a quota and is willing to do with less profit. ~

Q: Hey I was wondering where I could get the elusive 2008 Dodge Charger SRT8 in that awesome green color?
Or I wanted to get the yellow daytona edition or the bright blue super bee. I live in illinois close to chicago, any help with dealers that have these cars would be nice!

A: Here’s EIGHT of them for sale right now on ebaymotors:

http://motors.shop.ebay.com/

Get one then have it repainted exactly as you want.

Q: Moved to CA from WI —CAR Registeration and License questions?
Just moved to california from Wisconsin. My car was transported and I took the delivery today . Car is comparitively new with 8015 miles on it and is a 2006 Model.

Q1: I have Drivers License from WI do I need to give a driving test again in CA ? What is the procedure to get License from CA?

Q2: What procedures/ documents I need to get my Car Registerd in California . What kind of fees I will need to pay.

PS: Car was purchased in Dec’06 from dealer in Chicago.

Please advise. Any help is greatly appreciated.

A: Here check out this link for the drivers license part:

http://www.dmv.ca.gov/dl/dl_info.htm#2500

Here is a link for the car license, sounds like you are lucky it has over 7500 miles on it (see the first “note”):

http://www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/brochures/howto/htvr9.htm#feesdue

You don’t mention your age or how long you’ve been driving, I’m sure you’ll find info on the Cali DMV website. Relatively sure you won’t need another practical test, no, or a written for that matter.

I don’t think the “PS” you mentioned matters a bit.
Baron von Party from Wisconsin, YES it’s windy and cold here again!!

Q: Bought a used car and now won’t run?
My husband bought a used car on Thursday. one mile from the dealership the car stopped running. He had it towed and the radiator was replaced along with some other flaws for a total of over $900. He just called me from Chicago and the car has again stopped working. He had it towed to a service station and is taking a cab to where he works. My question is this: I looked up Lemon Laws for Illinois and they cover only NEW cars. My husband has not yet contacted the dealer, but I’m not holding my breath on any help on his part. What can I do to recover the price of the repairs?

A: Take it to the mechanic that done your prepurchase inspection..Oh wait, did you have this done?? If not, you really have no one to complain to..What yr model is the car? Sounds like it might be an old car,to be having all these problems..
Anyway, I am a dealer and i want people to check the vehicles that i sell..They are machines and they are going to need service but should not have major problems when you leave the dealer with it…Thats why im wondering if you gambled and purchased a vehicle on its last leg ..Some people do that thinking they will be lucky enough for the vehicle to last forever,but it rarely works that way..
Sorry for your problem! Be smarter next time!

Q: Buying A Car Out of State?
I found a car in chicago, the only problem is I live in san diego.
Its from a dealer. Whats the best way to go about the transaction. I plan on having it prof. inspected first. Is it possible to purchase and finance through the dealer (I have a low interest loan from my local credit union I plan on refinancing when I get the car) wihtout being in person, and then have the car shipped across country? Ive gotten rates of 600-900 and it is still a better deal.
thanks guys- good point about the salt. and waiting to find one in my area. my credit union says they cant finance it since they like to visually inpsect the car before the loan goes into effect. I was more interested if it possible to buy a car without actaully being present and shipping a car from a dealership. It seems like a lot of hassle.
thanks again

A: You can finance it right off through your local credit union. If you finance it at the dealer and change there will fees to finance and then maybe an early payoff fee from the dealer. Also inspect it good because if its been used a few years. The Chicago area uses tons of salt in the winter so the rust potential is there. Unless its a rare model it may be worth waiting and finding one in you area of the county. If its a lot cheaper be cautious because there may be a reason.(wreck or mechanical issues etc)

Q: Red light camera in Chicago?
Do I still get a ticket in the city of Chicago if I pass a red-light camera if I have temp plates ??like the yellow ones the dealers gives u when u buy a car

A: yup sorry, the ticket will find you eventually. I hate them, they probably cause more accidents honestly. Daley and the city just getting their moneysworth for the stupid cameras.

Q: Does anyone know of a dealerships that sells 2009 accord coupe V6’s with the 6-speed manual?
I’m planning on buying a new accord coupe ex-l v6 with the 6-speed trans, but everywhere i go, all they have is automatic, and i don’t want to wait forever for the car to come in. By the way, i live in chicago. also, if no dealer has any in stock, how long do you think it would take for one to get shipped in.

A: Go to Bob Rohrman’s Schaumburg Honda Automobiles http://www.schaumburghondaautos.com/ou/schaumburg-honda/ they are the largest Volume Honda dealer in the midwest, so they can get you any vehicle. If you must order one, it could take anywhere from 6 weeks or more to get one… it all depends on which color is being made, and if it’s not the one you want, you must wait. I will warn you now, since the Accord coupe is a limited production vehicle (1 coupe is produced for every 20 sedans), it will be more difficult to find, but be persistent and you’ll get one.

Q: i lost my car papers?
Hey. I lost all the papers from the car…that is the title and the paper that the dealer gave me. I bought the car from wisconsin dells and now i live in chicago. So what do i have to do?I allready talked to the dealer , i bugged him for over a month but he gives me the same answer”we’ll take care of that”…and he doesn’t. So is there any way that i can get the papers from somewhere in person?

A: keep trying and wish you the best of luck and hope that you CAN HAVE THOSE PAPERS SOON

Q: Does Chicago purposely neglect minority areas to force gentrification?
I live in the northeast corner of Logan Square near Diversey and Western. I have lived here my entire 40 years of my life. It was and once again is a primarily Latino area. It was never a horrible neighborhood. Although there were the typical gang and crime problems it was a pretty safe area. No thanks to the Chicago Police Department who, as usual, took very long to respond and you could never find a police car when you needed one.

About 6-7 years ago yuppies swarmed in like roaches forcing our people out. Homes went up from $150,000 to close to $500,000. Almost immediately the city services improved. The police came right away when you called 911. Police cars regularly patrolled the area. Graffiti clean up crews were busy at work all day. The park at the end of the block was pristine. The cops chased away the drug dealers and gang bangers. The streets and viaducts became pristine.

When the real estate bubble burst this all was reversed. Now there are empty condo units and town houses where white yuppies once lived. Some of them are still there but many of them have become rentals and low income housing units. The neighborhood is in the process of “degentrifying” if there is such a term. Houses are back down to under $200,000. And, city services are back to their previous levels. The graffiti blasters don’t come when called. The police take nearly 30 minutes or more to show up. There is tagging everywhere. The alleys are dirty and the park is dangerous again.

It’s worse than it was before the yuppies came and left. Has this ever happend to anyone else in Chicago? Just curious.

A: hmmm i will drive around that neighborhood today just to see. its funny you say this because there is a police station nearby on western and belmont.

Q: if i won a brand new 2009 nissan sentra, would i have to pay the taxes on it?
Lets say, that i won a car. I got mail saying that i won. now i am not an idiot and i am not going to even enter the sweepstakes. But lets say that i did win a car, would i have to pay taxes on it and if so, does anyone know about how much? Also lets say that i didnt want the car, could i sell it back to the dealer?

i live in chicago if that makes a difference, thanks!

A: The IRS will be sending you a tax bill for their idea of “income” (the value of the car).

I know it sounds stupid because you didn’t buy it.

I know it sounds stupid because you get it as is, with no guarantees from any authority (other than they have laws about contests and lotteries actually having the prizes they claim, but that is basically unnecessary).

Q: I need help in purchasing a car… What to look for … and what not ..Can anyone help me?
Ok im 22 and have identity left on my credit. So my credit is pretty bad, so it seems that my only choice to get a car is craigslist or autotrader from a private dealer (unless anyone knows a place that will help you with bad credit ?)

So i know nothing about cars , and don’t know what to look for.. like how many miles..etc. I just need a car to get me to the grocery store, vet, laundry mat, so nothing that I will drive ALL the time. I live in the city in Chicago so i take public trans. but need a car for other things.

Any suggestions on what to do and how to go about doing it ..or what to look for ?

A: nothing over 100k miles because then it wont last. check for dents or rips in seats to see how well it was tooken care of. less blemishes the better. also when negotiating every thou. they ask as a down payment only knocks off about 20 bucks a month. i have a car and truck brand new without no down payment. its all about negoiations….the longer you sit and bull shit the better deal you will get in the long run. Because they always start high…and me and my boyfriend are 25 and 27

Q: shoulg i buy this 1997 gsx eclipse?
I wanted a 96-99 eclipse since I was 13. I found it finally its a. 97. Gsx turbo automatic… with a new. Big radiator thing on the front, leather seats in good condition, a strut bar, big intake, catback exhaust, bov, drilled rotors, kumho tires. turbo looks new, has 2 turbo gauges inside, turbo timer and some other Stuff with the Apexi logo. LookS very clean it should have around 300 hp. 131.000 miless. Engine looks nice nothing seems to leak.. Its selling it for 6800 but I convinced him to give it to me for 5000 because it has a tiny 1inch rust spot near the spoiler and this is the bad thing, the check engine light is on but he says its a sensor of the exhaust or something like that I don’t really know about cars and I don’t know any mechanic to go with me and check the car. It looks great and the guy says it has a clean title. I did turn it on and Doesn’t smoke or anything. I want to buy it but I’m not 100% sure. My ex owes me 2000 but I’m not sure when she is going to pay mee lol and I’m going to sell my 95 ford escort for 1000=3000 and I’m going to pay the other 2000 in 4months. Should I buy it? What if the sensor is not the problem? Whan can I do? Can I return it if its somethind more? Please help. Ohh and its a small used car dealer in the south of chicago

A: You should also consider that such a car may be expensive to insure. Check your insurance rates before buying one, for example here – carinsurance.yoll.net

Q: Is it a Disservice to Americans to refer to the Depression as “A RECESSION”?
It seems the only definition of a Depression, is that they’ve happened in the past. Terminology changes as DID the way unemployment numbers are counted.

We don’t see long lines at the Unemployment Office, because today all you have to do is CALL-IN to report. – If you did see the line of people on Unemployment, you would see there are as many people living in Chicago Illinois.

Prices going up on necessities while nonessential products are lowering in price … like some car dealers offering two for one sales. – Not to mention, more folks on Welfare these days.

Import-Export Shipping has halted.

Paper Money is being horded up by Bankers and Corporations … many, who are destined to fail soon.

Many people are living in “Tent Cities” in America … see Youtube.com for videos.

Though this IS a GLOBAL CRISIS and several countries have begun to BARTER as TRADE WITHOUT MONEY.

But, the Main Stream Media insists, this is only a RECESSION! – To believe this Crisis is temporary, is foolish in light of the facts out there. Numbers can be manipulated … facts cannot.

Those who believe MSM are going to find themselves unprepared for what’s yet to come. Isn’t that a Disservice to the American People?

A: you are right things are really bad and will only get worse . the poor are getting poorer And the rich are also getting poorer.There is worse to come.and it will never be the same as it used to be.

Q: finding an apartment?
im in desperate need to find an apartment my mom passed away about 3 weeks ago and our home was in forcolsure so now im here 18 yrs old with a 2yr old son and no credit at all i owe 123 dollars on a credit card but i was told by car dealers that i dont have any credit anyways im trying to know what are the chances of getting denied an apartment me and my son have to be out by nov 1st and we have no family so im looking everyday all day..im 18 yrs i work for the social security office and i make $13 hr im only willing to find a place at the max of 600 also im in the chicago area are there any chances i wont find anybody to rent me something because going to a shelter is a last resort for me and my son….. plzzzzzzzzzzz i need serious advice

thanks bye tc

Q: How to go about buying a used car ??? read my situation & give your recommendation !!!?
I know ZERO about cars etc.
I’m 27 years old and I’m getting my license in a couple of months.
I know I’m a little late in the game here but , i live in Chicago and always use trains for transportation .
Anyway, My husband just bought a brand new Passat and I would like to buy myself a used car b/c I need to drive myself to work and its pretty local like a 20 min drive to work . Its very local driving and my budget is pretty low….at Max $3,000 and its okay if it has a lot of miles on it b/c the passat is going to be our main family car ……..if we need to drive long distance w/ our son

What model car do you recommend  for me 1st time driver 1st car ?  and do you recommend i buy from a dealer or someone off the street selling a car ?????  My hubby doesnt want to help me w/ this because we just bought a new car but technically its his so i need something of my own, i will be paying for this myself :}
Thanx  a bunch !!!

A: i recommend a Honda Civic or Honda Accord. their cheap, but good and reliable cars. idk about the low miles, because your price range seems like you might be able to afford a later model car, but the good thing about Hondas is that their engines can run on 100k+ miles.

A: Not postive but if you are looking for lists this is the place to check:

www.ListAfterList.com

Q: can anyone tell me the name of the south side (chicago) drug dealer who was buried or his son buried in a car?

A: The name of this particular gangster was flukie stokes and he buried his son in a Cadillac.

Q: Is there any recourse I can take regarding my car? I bought a 07 grand prix in 08/07 from a dealer in chicago?
I had a problem w/ my car and I took it to a local dealer closer to home to get it fixed under my 3 warranty. The dealer called & said that my car had actually been in a accident & the whole left side had been repainted ( I never knew) & that the impact had shifted everything underneath, I need a new axle, my power steering hose is bent & about 3 more pages worth of things that are wrong. I have about $3500 worth of repairs & they won’t cover it because who ever got into the accident had tried to fix it themselves & now the dealer has to go back and fix all their work, something is actually being held together with wire ties!!

The original dealer never told me that it had been in an accident and we even asked. What recourse can we take??? The dealer wants to offer us the value of the car as if it were a regular trade in, I want what it was worth when I bought it. I think that is the most fair solution because never would have bought it if I had known, it’s not a safe car to drive

A: It is illegal for a dealer to sell a car and NOT tell the customer it was in an accident. That doesn’t mean that they DO. But if you are having problems, yes, you have recourse, and it’s not just a regular trade in…. they should give you your money back, the money you paid for it in the first place.

Call a lawyer.

Q: What dealer in chicago finances bad credit with very little money down?
I have about $500 to put down and a credit score of about 450. I make 45,000/yr and I don’t really have any other current credit,Its all from years ago. I just moved,my fiance wrecked her car recently, shes pregnant and we need a car bad!!! We need her income to pay our bills and If she can’t get to work we are in trouble. HELP PLEASE!!!!

A: You can get a decent car loan, even with bad credit. I’ve done it, but you’ll have to look around. That’s one of the BIG mistakes people make…just taking the first offer that’s given to them when they go to the dealer. Be smarter than that.

WARNING: DON’T GO TO BUY A CAR WITHOUT HAVING THE LOAN FIRST. The auto dealers will eat you alive and give you a crappy rate. Shop around with lenders who specialize in bad credit car loans. It’s a better option, you don’t have to take what they’re offering if you don’t want it, and it’s better than dealing with the car dealer’s people.

There are usually some nationally based car loan companies who specialize in bad credit car loans who advertise on the page linked below…

http://www.axalda.info/bad-credit-car-loans.html

Q: Do you think the scandal the clintons have on Obama is that he was a major drug dealer in Chicago?
Thats what i have been hearing lately if this is the rumor do you think it is true. Rumor has it that his drug dealing buddy that was sleeping in his car was being paid to keep quiet and when Obama cut off his money he went to the Clintons with all the goods and that his next stop is selling ito the Enquirer.

A: Even if it is they can’t use it. The assumption is that they know something so whatever comes out will be blamed on them…so they can’t use it.

Q: like cia to respond here: An agent ordered a car dealer service dept to do something to our personal car?
it caused a cracked engine block. I live in chicago burbs. I have tried to call CIA and write to them about the incident and want to make a claim for damages .. which is a new car new warranty and loss of use. The perps are keeping me from reaching your REAL offices and keeping you on the streets from contacting me. Do you realize what a conspiracy this is and how i really dont need to be labled crazy and do need some REAL assistance from someone in your agency for real?
Stop seeing others about what I need to see you on.! Really dont give me that denial crap there are witnesses also. and I had the dealer make an FBI report on it that day for me as well.

A: i dont get the question but i dont think you are crazy like some people on here
-LMS

Q: Where in Chicago can I go for a good certified used car, for a first time buyer.?
I would like my first vehicle to be a truck, four doors, in good condition, and No sneak & bait dealer. It can be in Chicago or in the Chicago Area.

A: Hi
You can get really good cheap cars from auctions , you will find thousands of different auction and repo cars of all kinds of models really cheap at http://www.carauctiondeals.com
Hope this helps

Q: Honda dealer (Chicago,IL) asking $1500 for my 98 Accord LX 100000 miles service?
Will that really cost that much for the 100000 mile or 7year service? Is it reliable and cheaper if I go with non-Honda dealer? Can I skip this service as I don’t have any issues or problems with my car? Please advice me.

A: Never blindly pay what the dealer quotes. The dealer is a private mechanic like any other except they generally charge more labor dollars to make up for what they lose on warranty claims.

Take out your owners manual and see what is required at 100k. Call a few shops and tell them what you need done and get some quotes. $1500 probably includes “Dealer Suggested Items” that Honda doesn’t even require for your car which is usually a bunch of fluff to help their bank accounts grow.

Q: How to install sirius radio in a car that is equipt for it?!?!?
So i have a 2008 Subaru Legacy 2.5i Limited Edition Sedan and one of its many features is that it comes Satallite ready. The dealer made it seem like it was so simply and all I had to do was call Sirius and get a code or what not.

I HAVE a sirius radio account and have one set up in my Pathfinder and had another one in an older surbaru that I had ((but no longer use cuz that car died lol)) so signing up is not the issue here.

Once I got the new car car and was playing around with it and reading the options, it says i NEED some sort of reciever for the Sirius to work in the car so I call the dealer and they tell me its going to be 400 bucks to install and I thought that was absoutely CRAZY!!!!

So basically what I’m asking is, IS there somewhere else I can take the car to get it hooked up for a better price; some where like Bestbuy or some where near where I live which is in Chicago, or is there a way to do it myself?!?!

~Jackie
I KNOW how sirius WORK on my SUBARU RADIO dial whatever its called it say SAT so all i need is to connect some stuff BEHIND THE RADIO not on the windshield or NOTHING but the dealer WANTS to basically take all my money for it and its just stupid i need a RECIEVER and some on to connect it DIRECTLY to the radio cuz my CAR radio will control it but WHO will do it?

A: If you want your radio to control the Sirius function you most likely need the suburu part. Maybe you could buy the part then have a shop install it.
Call Auto Alarm Center 773-880-5900 (Ashland & Wellington). They have been in business forever maybe they have another solution for you.
Good Luck

Q: Dealer lied to us at time of buying our new car?
We purchased a 2006 VW GTI, brand new at the Fletcher Jones Dealership in Chicago.
After inquiring about their different financing options, we decided to pick their Driver’s Option (Similar to a balloon loan, lower payments and they would take the car back at the end of the contract, but it’s not a lease).
They told us, we give you a contract for 10,000 miles/ year but if you would need more miles you can just call VW Credit and ask them to increase the amount of miles we are allowed to drive…
This was all a lie, after talking to VW Credit we were told that in no way we can renegotiate the available mileage and therefore we had to stick with what we had picked in the 1st place…
In between we went back to the dealership and the sales manager, Niko, told us that we were eligible for adding miles to our contract…
Since it’s not possible, Niko wants to compensate us for the “lie” but every other time i talk to him, he just looks away a bit more.
What are our legal resources?

A: contact Lemon Law or the department of Consumer affairs in the state you are from and make a report and have one of the investigators handle the case its free and when they hear STATE they panic …

Q: IM IN A CHAP 13,I WENT THREW THE COURTS 4 PERMISSION TO FINANCE A CAR, BUT I CANT FIND A DEALER WHO WILL TAKE ?
WILL ACCEPT ME? ANY SUGGESTIONS…..IAM IN CHICAGO

A: Find a lender first, you need one who routinely deals with borrowers in chapter 13. Get your loan approval first then shop for a car. Tell the car dealer you’re paying cash — you’ll get a better deal that way anyway.

Google “high risk car loans” or something similar.

Q: I need an affordable long term car rental or “loaner”?
I need a car for about 90 to 120 days in the western suburbs of Chicago. It needs to be a reliable car, 2-6 years old that I can pay no more than $250.00-$350.00 per month to someone to use their vehicle. I would drive no more than about 600 miles per month local to Chicago…

I’m looking either for a very competitively priced rental or any creative arrangement with a car dealer or any other individual who could use some extra cash in exchange for “loaning” out their unused car…

Any ideas that include creative options??

what might be my best options… I’m familiar with Rent-a-Wreck ent the car sharing companies…neither work for me or are a particularly good deal…

…what’s the alternative to having to plunk down $1500-$2500. for a possible lemon that will require me to sell it 90-120 days later?

… I’m a 57 year old male excellent (no accidents) driving record with no speeding tickets etc.

A: Rent a wreck is going to be the best alternative. Nothing is going to be cheaper than that. Whatever reason it’s not going to work for you . . .is probably the same reason it won’t work for someone else, either.

Q: How Do I get my Honda Fixed Affordably in Chicago?
I need a tune up on my Honday Civic but am worried that I will take it to the dealer and they will send me a bill that is way oversized! I need it done, but since I don’t know about cars they could try to take advantage of this… How do I find a legit. car repair man (or woman) and know that I won’t get killed on the price of the work?

A: well there is a guy on my block a christian family and he does this work let me know.

Q: What other fee’s will I need to pay when buying a used car?
I see a car dealer with a dependable car for $795.

Do I have to pay taxes on the car price ? Can I tell them I have $800 cash and to include all other expenses ?

What are the other “hidden” fee’s that will come up ?

I have $900 total. Would like to pay $800 cash and use the other $100 for insurance and gas.

Im in Chicago Illinois

Do they offer a “waiver” for a few days for insurance to drive it off the lot ? I only need liability.

A: I think there is state tax, title transfer, plates, sales tax and county tax. You can get insurance right on the spot if you give the info to the insurance company, if you are cover for a while prior to this, I am not sure.

Q: Suburb or City : Buying a car?
I was just wondering if the tax on a new car is lower in a suburb or in the city? I am about to trade in my car and I have two dealer options; one in Chicago and the other in Skokie. I was told that it is better to buy a car in the suburbs.

What do you think?

A: Here in NYC, it doesn’t matter where we buy the car, if it is being registered to NYC address, we have to pay the higher NYC taxes.

I suspect it is all the same. So check with your local DMV.

Good Luck…

A: Yes,a government car auction might be the best opportunity for you. You can find incredible deals, and it is not uncommon for people to save thousands of dollars. whether you’re in the market for a new automobile or not.

You’ll find that, at a government seized auto auction, there is a huge variety of automobiles available for you to bid on. The majority of vehicles at a government car auction have been repossessed from criminals or people who have failed to make payments on government loans. There are also government car auction vehicles that are “retired” police cruisers or other government vehicles that are no longer in service. You can usually find a wide range of makes and models,

Not many people know about government seized auto auctions, so there will not be a lot of competition for vehicles that you’re bidding on. There are so many different vehicles to choose from, you’re bound to find one that will become someone’s next dream car. Whether you want to buy a car to re-sell, or you’re looking for a car for yourself or a child, a government seized auto auction is the best place to look for an affordable used vehicle. Why waste time with a double-talking car dealer when you can go to a government seized auto auction, where you can buy a car 90% off Retail Value?

OK,You can check out http://www.purchaseusedcar.info/index.php?t=purused ,this site lists top 5 goverment car online auction sites for you to choose,It really is that easy.

Q: i’m trying to buy a car from the chicago city auction,people says it’s a scam overhere??
is the city auto auction a scam???

A: Make sure you bring a good mechanic with you when buying. That’s your best seeing they are being sold “as is”.

Q: where can i find car under $300 in chicago (website,newspaper,auction) i want to know? tell me?

A: errrrrmmm nowhere on yahoo answers UK and Ireland!!

Try http://answers.yahoo.com instead of http://uk.answers.yahoo.com and you might have a little more luck

Q: How do public car auctions work?
So I plan to go to a car public auction this week or next week. I will be going to the South Chicago Auto Auction of Harvey in Harvey,IL. This is my first time going there and to a car auction. Im interested in a 07 Chrysler 300 and other cadillac cars I saw on online. What can I expect and how do I deal? Is it good to buy cars from auctions?

A: So you have accurate information…Flood cars (like those from Katrina) are not sold at auctions to be put back on the road. There is a lot of “homework” to be done before going to an auction. make sure you know the real value of the vehicles you intend to bid on. If you aren’t a car savvy person, take along a friend who is. Remember there is a buyers premium added to the bid price. It’s a set percentage that helps pay the opetrating expenses of the auction house. Don’t get caught in a “bidding war”. Set a limit on how much you will bid and don’t exceed it. I have picked up some good deals. You just need to be smart about how you bid and what you bid on. Good luck and have fun.

Q: what are some auto auctions in chicago that let you test drive the car?
the city auto auction does not allow test drives, does ne1 know of other auto auctions in chicago?

A: I thought that auctions were wholesale only, meaning that only dealers were allowed? Obviously, the vintage car auctions are the exception here.

Most auctions don’t allow you to drive the cars. If they did, then the other people couldn’t look at them.

Even if the public is invited, you seriously need to know exactly what you’re doing. You need to be a good mechanic, and know a lot about the type of car you’re buying. IT is the ultimate “buyer beware” kinda deal.

Q: I am trying to transport a car from Pensacola, FL to Chicago. What is the best and most cost effective way?
I tried calling the auto auction in Pensacola and see if they can transport the car but I just keep getting voicemail there and no return call. I would prefer not to use a transport company that charges an arm and a leg.
I have already moved… I need someone to just move the car.
Wow! The uship.com site is awesome! Thanks!

A: Found a good way-it’s a site called uship.com bought a chopper and had it shipped from fl to ny for 300 bucks. What it is is you like the origin and destination and time frame. People will send you bids for taking you car. It’s usually people moving, ebay car shippers, 18 wheelers, or race teams with an empty slot in their trailers. Make sure you make a lamens contracts, copy of insurance, driver’s license, and any other paperwork you this valid. Pay on delivery. Good luck-remeber to vote for a best answer

Q: Is it possible to go to the aution in chicago and just pay cash for a car without actually bidding on it?
CHICAGO CITY AUTO AUCTION IN HARVEY

A: No,,,It seems that you cant becasue maybe others also want to get that car.
In fact,bidding is not so difficult.You can try Government and Police online auctions.Every day, the government confiscates, seizes and repossesses thousands of Vehicles.These vehicles are usually typically listed at 90% OFF their original value and auctions usually start at $100.
Two months ago,I bouht a near new SUV from online police auction.It only cost me $730.
I followed the guide on
http://www.usedcarsinfo.info/index.php?t=auction .That site listed top 5 Police auction sites and help you choose the best one.
Hope that help you.

Q: Chicago City Auction/ 2000 Grand Am?
How much do you think i can get this car for at a auto action and what are the pro’s and con’s of buying from a auction

A: Between 2500 and 3.000 but i do not recommend buying at auctions After the 30 minute drivetrain warranty its your car faults and all.

Q: Can I get a good deal at an auto auction?
I have about $4k in cash to spend on a car (just don’t want to take out a loan in this economy).

I’m wondering if auto auctions (here in chicago we have a place in waukegan) are worth the trouble and really will save you that much money.

What sorts of things should I be on the outlook for if I go?

A: Auctions can save you a lot of money — if you know what you’re doing. They allow you to look over the cars and inspect them, but you can’t drive them. So it’s best to take along a mechanic friend or someone who can judge a car’s condition by examining it. Otherwise, you risk losing your money on a junker. Here’s an article that might help:

http://www.leaseguide.com/Articles/publiccarauctions.htm

.

Q: Law school chances for Chicago area?
Hey, I just graduated from Grinnell College last May with an economics degree. I’ve been working at my friend’s father’s car auction since but I’ve been considering going to law school. I haven’t taken the LSAT yet, but I plan to take classes soon and study accordingly. MY GPA isn’t very high – it’s only a 3.4 but I’ll justify that by saying that Grinnell was a tough school (a top 20 liberal arts school) and As were not handed out at all. I had decent ECs, but I’m not sure how much they matter. I would like to go to a good law school though but I think Northwestern and University of Chicago are out of my range. Somebody suggested Notre Dame too, but I think that’s more of the same and there’s also the fact that I would like to practice in Illinois (not sure if it matters). What options would I have? People have warned me to not to accumulate a lot of debt because I’ve been told the job security is quite bad for a lawyer outside of prestigious schools.

A: Well, I have to you tell that a 3.4 from Harvard wouldn’t necessarily be all that impressive to many law school admissions committees. Grinnell is indeed a very good school, but there are a lot of people attending very good schools who earn higher GPA’s than a 3.4.

So, yes. Northwestern and U of C are out of your range. On the other hand, while the job situation for lawyers isn’t great right now, I think it will get better, and I know plenty of working lawyers who did not attend the most prestigious schools.

I’d look at good state universities — not the most prestigious ones, like Michigan-Ann Arbor, but decent schools. You could attend a school outside of Illinois and then study for the Illinois Bar. That’s not a problem. You can also look at the law schools at DePaul, Loyola, and the University of Illinois.

A very high LSAT score could help offset the GPA.

Q: college student looking for great used car?
IM AN COLLEGE STUDENT LOOKING FOA GREAT USED CAR WITH GOOD MILEAGE AND NO UNDER HOOD PROBLEMS. I’VE ALREADY HAD AN LEMON FROM THE AUCTION AND CAN’T GO DOWN THAT WAY AGAIN NO MORE MONEY TO GIVE AWAY.LOOKING TO HEAR FROM AN ONE OWNER OLDER SELLER OR SOMEONE WITH AN GREAT CAR NO HIDDEN PROBLEMS. PLEASE REPLY ONLY IF HONEST . IM FROM CHICAGO ILLINOIS LOOKING ALL OVER ILLINOIS.

A: Have you tried Craigslist? Or a dealership?

Q: can i get in trouble if i take an abandoned RV?
theres a street of abandoned houses and cars and boats in the hood
i took a giant alumium boat that fit in my bed but stuck out by like 5 feet and took it to the scrap yard(i was on my way there anyways i was hauling 20 fridges on a trailer) got 200 bucks for that boat
just came accrossed all of this yesterday
there is even an abandoned car auction place and its FULL of metal
all the windows in the rv are knocked out, and its in the middle of some trees
can i get in trouble if i brought some tools there
filled up the tires got it running threw it in drive, prob fail to get it out of the mud then tried to pull it out with my truck? i mean its just less work for the city so…i dont see the problem
this is in chicago suburbs
more specifically
harvey illinois
btw all the houses on this street are pieces of shit
like theres half a house
a house that was almost burned down but it was only on one side
and theres one that has no doors or windows

A: As long as no one complains what is there to worry about?

But if someone complains how are you going to cover your tracks?

Boats, RVs, cars et cetera are all serialized…

Just keep cool.. but be careful!

Q: where can i buy from if i have a dealer ship license?
i live in the chicago area and i was wondering where and what i can do with a dealership license i mean i know you can buy cars and things with it but what is the point in having one. what is the difference between that and a public auction?

A: Above are correct.
A public auction is open bid, a person can bid $100 and another bid $110 and it keep going until someone bids more than anyone else will pay, say it go to $1,000. Everyone hears who bid and how much.
Many dealer auctions are closed bid, they not have time to play around. So, you look at a car and put the price you pay in an envelope. No one knows what someone else bid. Then they sit around and eat and drink beer (Well maybe cokes) open envelopes and highest bid wins.

Q: Every city has an annoying local business commercial! In my city its “Amazing Trifecta!” What is it in yours?
In Cleveland this guy has the most annoying voice on this commercial for an auction that sells houses, cars and furniture. In Chicago, it was Eagle Insurance’s Eagleman! What the generic advertisement in your area that drives you crazy?

A: Toledo, Ohio
It’s a tie. One is “Roth Furs, Dooowntooown.” The guy goes on for at least three minutes (yes, in a commercial) about all the furs he has, and is talking about his models. So annoying.
The other is for Rose Autos. The guy in the commercial gives all his salespeople nicknames, like Tex, and pats them on the back while they do thumbs-up or gun hands. It’s way cheesy.

Q: Solve-A-Mystery: Who Set-up the Robbery?
Deputy Sheriff Bob Steel arrived at the roadside hotel on the interstate thinking he was going to investigate an ordinary theft. Now he found himself receiving an art lesson from a dapper little man named Gilbert Bowles, art expert from Durham’s auction house in Chicago.

“There were other antiques in the van, but it was the Audubons they were after. The market on Audubons has skyrocketed in recent years. There were two of them in a locked case inside the rear of the van, which is separated from the front seats by a barrier. Both were prints done by the master print-maker, Havell. I authenticated them myself. At auction they would have brought fifty thousand each, or more. The Shoveler Duck and the Purple Heron. Magnificent.”

“What time did you pull in here?”

“Right at midnight. I was following the van in my car all the way. I blinked my lights for the driver to pull in here. We all needed a rest after driving for over twelve hours today.”
“How did you discover that the van had been broken into?”

“The hotel security guard saw a car drive in and park next to the van, then speed out of here about ten minutes later. He got suspicious and checked. He found the van doors at the back were open and the lock busted by a crowbar or something. Inside the van, the case holding the prints was also broken open. Both Audubons were stolen.”

“Why was the van parked back there behind the hotel instead of the parking lot?”

“Our security guy, Chuck Keene, was riding with the driver. He made the decision.”

The hotel security guard confirmed the story and added, “It was a funny thing. They had just gone in to register at the desk, and I looked out at the parking lot just as a car came in and drove around to the back lot.. It couldn’t have been more than five minutes after they arrived. They were still registering. I didn’t think too much of it, and went on with my rounds. Then about ten minutes later the car took off like a shot.
That’s when I went back out behind the hotel and investigated.”

The van’s driver, Mel Sims, said, “I was getting pretty sleepy, so I was glad when Mister Bowles signaled to turn in here. But look, I sure wouldn’t be part of stealing something now. I’m just a couple of years short of taking my retirement.”

“Do you carry a cell phone?”

“Nope. Keene has one. That’s enough for security, I’d think.”

Chuck Keene, security officer for Durham, who had been up in the front of the van with Sims, said, “I got out first when we got here. Mister Bowles and I walked into the hotel together, and Mel stayed behind to get his gear out of the van. He came in no more than two minutes after we did. Then we all finished checking in and went to our rooms. I no more than got into my room when Mister Bowles called me on his cell phone from outside and told me he was there with the hotel security guy and that someone had broken into the van. I used the hotel phone to call the Sheriff’s office.
I’d left my cell phone in the van.”

Did you notice a car following the van, by any chance?”

“No. I glanced in the mirror as we started to turn in. All I saw was Mister Bowles car.”

Steel returned to the art expert’s room. “Mister Bowles, did you at any time notice a car following you?”

“No. There were mostly trucks on the interstate as the night wore on. And we weren’t going fast. Cars passed us in the fast lane, but I could see no car following us. Frankly, I think someone just saw the Durham name on the van and knew there would be valuable items aboard. We’re almost as well-known as Sothebys or Christies.”

“Was there any publicity about the Audubons and their being shipped by van?”

“No. We would never advertise a find like the Audubons. We are very discreet.”

Steel returned to the driver, Mel Sims, and asked him where his bags had been kept in the van.

“Well, there’s not a lot of room in the cab. We don’t do a lot of overnights like this trip. Keene kept his bag in the cab,
so I had to use my key to open up the lock on the rear doors of the van. My bag was just inside the doors. I took my bag out and locked the van up again. Then I took my flashlight back to the cab, locked the cab up and came on in.”

Steel again questioned the Durham security man, Chuck Keene. “When the van left the highway and pulled into the parking lot, why did you have it parked in the area behind the hotel, rather than one of the areas that are better lit?”

“Oh, that was Mel Sims’ idea. He knew how Bowles felt about someone seeing the Durham name on the van and maybe trying to break in. I thought it wasn’t the safest place, but I went along with it. Sims has been working with Bowles a lot longer than I have. But as a security guy, I’m interested in how you’re going to solve this. It looks like a tough case to me.”

“Not as tough as some I’ve seen. I know exactly how this heist was pulled off.”

Who set up the robbery & what clues?
A. Gilbert Bowles
B. Chuck Keene
C. Mel Sims
First to answer correctly gets 10 points!

.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
ANSWER:
It’s Gilbert Bowles!
It was Bowles who signaled the driver to pull into the hotel lot. Knowing the location of their stop, he then called the backup car lagging a few minutes behind. He knew that Sims had parked in the area behind the hotel, and while the van was being parked, he finished the phone call.
Sims had a key to the cab and for the lock on the back doors of the van. But the two minutes in which he was alone at the van were not sufficient time to break the lock and also the case that held the Audubons. He only had the two minutes Keene mentioned to get his luggage, re-lock the back and front of the van, then walk into the reception area of the hotel. Keene could not have alerted the backup car while in the cab with Sims, and Keene had left his cell phone in the cab. So he could not have done it while walking across the parked van to join Bowles.
It was only the art expert, Bowles, who had the time alone with his cell phone, during the brief period when the van was being parked, to inform the backup car of the van’s exact location in the rear parking lot. The backup car did not have to be nearby. It could have been as far behind as five miles and have received Bowles’ signal on the cell phone permitting it to arrive within five minutes.
hes the one who made sure they would be at the right place, right time.  and he had a cel phone to call the baddys
A: If you hit Chicago at the AM or PM rush hour, it can be pretty bad. If you could somehow time your arrival into the city limits for the middle of the day it’s very manageable. True, unexpected traffic conditions (accidents, etc.) can alter things even in the middle of the day, but fore the most part it’s quiet (at least by Chicago traffic terms). Anywhere from 11 a.m. to about 3:30 p.m. is usually pretty managemable on the highways.
Not sure if you plan on driving around once you GET to the city, though. If you plan on parking the car and exploring on foot or on the bus, find a garage. Parking on the street is a pain right now. Spots are hard to find and when you do find one, you have to pay about $16 for two hours of parking. Better to find a garage and pay there.
If you actually like driving, going from Louisville to Chicago doesn’t have to be a bad experience.
Q: What’s the best way to get from Indianapolis to Chicago without a car?
I’m going to school at Ball State and live in Chicago and I won’t be having a car…
A: Amtrak has both a train and a bus on your route.  Also check out megabus.com.  They have rides for $10 to $29 one way.  You can only book megabus tickets online because they only have bus stops and no stations, so supposedly there’s less riffraff on the bus with you.  They also supposedly have free wifi.
Q: Where can i find a Car Customizer in Chicago? You know like Pimp My Ride?
I’m just trying to find a Car Customizer in Chicago that can customize cars and stuff. Almost like pimp my ride. If they have a website, can u please post it? That will be greatly appreciated!
A: …..NO……
Q: How many hours would it take to go from Chicago to Australia by car?
How many hours would it take to go from Chicago to Australia by car?
Would it be cheaper than going by Plane?
I need answers Plz! 10 pts best answers
no im serious the continent/ country australia for real how long does it take
thank you i will get back to you and tell you how my trip was i decided to take the pacific ocean instead be back in a few months
A: It would take you about 13 hours to get to teh Atlantic coastline at NYC..AZt that point you would have to give up since your car will notmkae it acrosss the Atlantic…OF course if you headed West towrads the Pacific coast which is more sensible since Australia is in teh southern Pacific Ocean tehn you could drive for about 2500 miles…Then at that point you would stop agian..So try either one and get backto us so that we know how long it took you
Q: How long do you have to file a car accident report in Chicago, IL?
How long do you have to file a car accident report in chicago, illinois?
Nobody was injured there was only car damages.  Thanks!
A: Here in Indiana it’s five days, but if there was no injury and the damage is under a certain amount ($1000 here, I believe), no report is required. Illinois is probably similar, but call the state police to be sure.
Q: How long will it REALLY take to travel from Milwaukee to Chicago by car on a Saturday and Sunday?
I will need to be in Chicago by 9:00AM.
A: according to google maps, it will take between 1 hour and 48 minutes and 2 hours and 10 minutes [depending on traffic].  I don’t believe there is any weekend morning rush hour, so i’d guess on the lower side of that range.
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=milwaukee+wi+to+chicago+il&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=27.643082,53.4375&ie=UTF8&z=8
Q: Do I need a Car living in Chicago?
I am wanting to move in around wrigley. Is public trans reliable enough to not have to have a car in Chicago?
A: you dont need a car, you can take trains and taxis and feet
Q: Where can i rent a nice luxury or exotic car in chicago for prom?
luxury/exotic car to rent for prom in chicago area. where can i find one at
A: NO ONE will rent you a “luxury or exotic car” in Chicago (or anywhere else for that matter) for a prom.
No car rental company rents anything to someone under 21, and very few rent to under 25.
your only choice would be to rent an “exotic” limousine
Q: when you rent a car from Avis at Chicago Ohare do you have to take a bus?
When you rent a car from avis at Chicago Ohare airport do you have to take a bus to get your car? Or is it at the airport? What I mean is do you have to take a shuttle bus to get a rental car?
A: Yes you need to take an Avis bus to the car lot. The good news is that the car lots are located on airport property at O”Hare. Very close to the terminals, just a few minutes away. Very easy.
Q: How do I get from Chicago to Merrillville without a car?
I am moving to Chicago in two weeks, and I need to get to Merrillville shortly thereafter to take an exam.  I will not have a car.  What’s the best way to get to Merrillville without a car.  Is there a bus or train that goes out there?
A: if you can get transportation to and from gary or portage, you can ride the south shore line into downtown (randolph street station) and connect to other lines from there or from buses…dont take greyhound. here is a link to the south shore line stations
http://www.nictd.com/service/stations.htm
and for the CTA stations
Q: i want to ship my car from chicago il to sunnyvale ca can some body suggest a dependable auto transporters?
hi all. I am moving from chicago IL to sunnyvale CA. I want to ship my car. Please suggest me a auto transport company which is dependable and reliable. I tried looking online but i am very confused with the quotes and reviews. Also can someone tell me me how much cost to expect for this move. Thanks in advance
A: That’s cost you @ least $1,200.00 and a bout a month to receive it in sunnydale .. why don’t just drive it there?
I know some people who can drive it for you over there within just one week-end for half the price..! You’ll have your car faster but an additional $1,500 miles on the car
Q: Is a Nissan Altima too big of a car to live in Chicago?
I am planning on moving there from TX where I have a nice Nissan Altima but I really wonder I am going to be needing such a big car. We have terrible public transportation here but I heard public transportation is great in Chicago. Maybe I can switch it for a mini cooper. What do you think?
A: Depending on the neighborhood. If your in Wrigleyville or Lakeview you’ll find a spot but it may take a while. If you live in an area like Logan Square a big car will be OK.
The Altima is medium to smaller so you should be OK in almost any neighborhood.
You definitely cant go wrong with the mini you can squeeze that baby in almost anywhere.
Q: can i buy car in chicago and register in cleveland, ohio with my seattle washington driver license?
i need answer on this question asap. please help me.
i just moved in to cleveland, ohio from seattle washington.
i have seattle washington driver license. and i trying to buy car from chicago (i can get car for $4000 chipper than ohio).
also, i still have seattle washing driver license, i’m moved back to seattle in a year or year and half, so i want to keep it instead change it to ohio driver license.
do you think i can still register my car (which will buy from chicago) in cleveland with my washington (seattle) driver license??
PS. i have home in cleveland.
A: I thinkk so as long as you have a valid license and the title for the car you will have to buy Ohio plates.
Q: where can i get my chicago city sticker for my car?
Where can I get my Chicago city sticker for my car?  Where can I get it and what information might I need to provide?  I tried to buy it online through the city site but it was completely useless and kept messing up, and I can’t seem to get an answer.  I haven’t got one before and I’m past the 30 days on my lease.
A: at a currency exchange
Q: Where are good places for love making in a car at Chicago area?
I am dating with my girl, and we do wanna sth stimulating. But we’re not sure about the places for a car sex. Do worry about the cops…. Could anyone suggest?
A: So you’re saying this girl is good enough to screw, but not good enough to spring for a motel room. Does she truly understand how little you value her?
I think 2009 will be even better: Immediately after his inauguration,
Obama will balance the budget, revive the economy, solve the real
estate problem, solve the auto industry problem, solve our
gas/alternative energy problem, stop the fires and mudslides in
California, ban hurricanes and
tornadoes, stop identity theft,
reverse global warming, find Osama, solve the Israeli-Palestinian
conflict, get rid of corruption in government and achieve world peace.
Then on the 7th day, He will rest.
But then, we still have – CHICAGO !
Chicago . . . . Who Runs it?
Senators:                              Barack Obama & Dick Durbin
Representative:                    Jesse Jackson, Jr.
Illinois Governor:                   Rod Blogojevich (arrested)
Illinois House leader:             Mike Madigan
Illinois Attorney General:       Lisa Madigan (daughter of Mike, above)
Chicago Mayor:                      Richard M. Daley (son of Mayor
Richard J. Daley – need we say more?)
The leadership in Illinois ?
…..all Democrats.
And Thank You for the combat zone in Chicago .
Body count in the last six months:    292 killed (murdered) in
Chicago :   221 killed in Iraq
State pension fund  –  $44 Billion in debt – worst in the country.
Cook County ( Chicago ) sales tax  –  10.25%, highest in
country.     (Look it up).
Chicago school system  –  rated one of the worst in the country.
Of course, they’re all blaming each other.  They can’t blame
Republicans because there aren’t any!
This is the political culture that Obama comes from in Illinois .  And
he’s going to ‘”fix” Washington politics for us?
How stupid can we be???
Good luck and may God help us.
My best wishes for 2009!
And remember
“The government cannot give to anyone anything
that it does not first take from someone
else.”
A: Looks like you worked pretty hard on this.
Good stuff man…..good stuff!!!
Q: Is this what Libs/Dems mean by “The Economy is Recovering?”?
http://finance.yahoo.com/news/Stocks-tumble-on-drop-in-apf-3086609210.html?x=0
“The Chicago Purchasing Managers Index fell to 46.1 in September rather than rising to the 52 that economists expected. The index, considered a precursor to the national Institute for Supply Management index to be released on Thursday, pointed to a Midwestern manufacturing industry than is weaker than had been expected.” I dunno about you but I’m tired of all the “unexpected” things that happen.
http://finance.yahoo.com/news/Economy-dips-at-07-percent-apf-1448960192.html?x=0
“Economy dips at 0.7 percent pace in 2Q”
“Growth should be solidly positive,” said Mark Vitner, economist at Wells Fargo Securities.
Gross domestic product measures the value of all goods and services — from machines to manicures — produced in the U.S. It is the best estimate of the nation’s economic health.
A main reason for the second-quarter upgrade: businesses didn’t cut back spending on equipment and software nearly as deeply as the government had thought. Consumers also didn’t trim their spending as much.
But on Wall Street, a surprise drop in the Chicago Purchasing Managers Index, considered a precursor to the national Institute for Supply Management index to be released on Thursday, sent stocks reeling. The Dow Jones industrial average lost more than 80 points in midday trading, and broader indices also fell.
Many analysts predict the economy started growing again in the July-September quarter, due partly to President Barack Obama’s $787 billion stimulus package and the government’s now defunct Cash for Clunkers program, which had ginned up auto sales. It offered people rebates of up to $4,500 to buy new cars and trade in less efficient gas guzzlers.
Earlier this month, Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke said the recession, which started in December 2007, is “very likely over.”
I will never believe Bernanke.
Don B, you don’t realize that Stocks have nothing to do with the solidity or recovery of the economy. The shift in stocks shouldn’t be looked at too much when dealing with economic recession/depression. It’s only an indication of how people spend money, not the value of that money, or how it’s used, or what it’s creating.
A: The economy is not recovering until unemployment starts decreasing and the working class is making money again. Anything less is BS.
Q: Help me find a white Integra GSR!?
did they not make alot of championship white ones? I tried cars.com and auto trader. PLEASE someone help me find one thats on sale around chicago
Q: Where can i find the scion tc trd release 5 rims for sale?
http://image.motortrend.com/f/auto_shows/coverage/chicago/14751293+w+soriginal/112_0902_05z+2010_scion_tc_release_series_50+front.jpg
.. just like these
A: i like this car
Q: how to form the table relationship in ms access?
I want to put together an access database.  It will track ticket sales over a counter for events.  Tables I have are ticket number table [no duplicates] an event name table , a sales coordinator name table, a city of event table, a city of sales window table, for what city the ticket was sold from.  The ticket no table is related to all tables as a one to many.
Should I have both the city of event location and city fo sales window the same table? I want to run queries on dollar sales for both cities of sales windows and for event cities. If so, how please?
What I have so far,
And thanks!
Tbl-Event TicketNumber
Ticket id- pk ,auto
Date of ticket
Ticket sold date
Price of ticket
Tbl-Event
Basketball game
Soccer game
Country music concert
Blues concert
Football game
Rock concert
Table- Sales Coordinator
Jamie T
Rick F
Toby T
Cynthia
Ranie
Tbl-Event City
Dallas
Chicago
San Diego
Oakland
San Francisco
Los Angeles
New York
Atlanta
Phoenix
Montgomery
Miami
Detroit
Tbl-ticket sold window city
Houston
Chicago
Trenton
Miami
Denver
San Diego
Seattle
KC Kansas
Nashville
Phoenix
A: It looks to me like you may want to form a single table which includes fields for Ticket id- pk , autoDate of ticket, Ticket sold date, Price of ticket as well as Event, Sales Coordinator, Event City, and ticket sold window city also as fields.
Then use Combo Boxes for the fields Event, Sales Coordinator, Event City, and ticket sold window city with the data choices that you have for each field, i.e. Basketball game, Soccer game, Country music concert, Blues concert, Football game, and Rock concert for the Event field.
When you run your SQL query, SELECT Event_City, ticket_sold_window_city, Price_of_ticket FROM Event_TicketNumber WHERE Ticket_sold_date = ‘*’.
Q: What lense combo should I get for my DSLR?
I plan to get a D80 soon and I want to get the best combo of lenses up to 300mm. I shoot year-round, but my two big events are the Chicago Auto Show and football games in the fall. My seats are 4th row endzone
Been looking at compact zoom 28-300 lenses since that would give the widest range. I could get a close shot when the play is in my endzone or I could zoom when the play is between the 50 and my endzone. What are the downsides to having a 28-300? I see a Sigma for sale on eBay BIN for $239 and Tamron BIN for $329. Is the Tamron worth the + $90? I know I’ll need an additional lense wider than 28-300 for shooting cars, but I won’t have to worry about that until next January.
I currently have a 100-300 AF lense for Nikon that locked up on me last year at a baseball game. It will soon be off for repairs and I will sell it if I get the 28-300. My other two options are to keep the 100-300 and get a D80 with a 18-55mm or an 18-135.
Thank you Yahoo! Answers!
Summary of my options:
1) Keep the 100-300 and buy a D80 with the kit 18-55
2) Keep the 100-300 and buy a D80 with a 18-135
3) Sell the 100-300 and buy 28-300 plus a wider lense later.
I appreciate any and all of your .02.
A: On my Pentax DSLR I have an 18×55 and an 70×300 that I use for weddings, portraits, party’s and such things as the Air Fair ( live in the Dayton Oh. area) and haven’t really found that I need much of anything else. I do use a polarizing filter a lot of times though.
A: other than the custom bodykit, you can get it all from the dealership. If you did it all at the dealership: lowering springs, 19” rims, some other cosmedic mods, it’ll cost you about $4,000 not including the bodykit. If you did it aftermarket and had a local tuning shop do it for you, it would be about $1200 for rims, $1500-$2000 for the bodykit+paintwork, $300 for lowering springs (installed), and then the xD you show has window tint, about $200. hope that helps.
Q: Buy here pay here car lots?
I have very bad credit. Anyone know of any buy here-pay here auto dealers near chicago??
A: There probably are some there, but be careful. Your down-payment will cover the amount the dealer actually paid for the car. Then the payments (plus interest) you make will be his profit. However, if you’re one day late, he can take the car, you’ve lost your down-payment and he can start all over with some other poor loser. He can eventually make 20 times (or more) what he paid for the car in the first place. Just a little advice. Good luck.
Q: Do you think it is a best price for a new 2009 Civic?
Hi.
I got a quote from several dealers(Chicago), but I’m not sure it’s the best price.
What do you think?
2009 Civic LX  Sedan
Auto
with Popular package
Including tax, dealer fee, etc. except Insurance
$16,100
A: Being on an Internet Team, not on salary, this is a excellent price.
I would be able to do the price but not including taxes and fees. I’m not sure what the Popular Package is.
Q: Resident evil 4, Chicago Typewritter, and other guns.?
I just beat Resident evil 4 n gamecube, and i started a new game and i went to the first, gun dealer and it dosn’t show the Infanit rocket launcher or the 3 round burst hand gun for sale, what did i do wrong? After i beat the game i started a brand new file on Pro. Also how do i get to start off at the begining of the game with all the good guns i had when i beat the game?, such as the riot gun and the Semi Auto Rifle?
A: To start with your old file, you have to load the cleared game from the last time. To get the Chicago, you have to beat Separate ways (not assignment Ada), and it is worth one million in Leon’s game, and 300 thousand in Ada’s game. The infinite rocket launcher costs 1 million, and the Matilda costs 70,000 and it uses ammo quickly. I don’t recommend it myself.
Or any better idea for buying used cars in Illinois and nearby area?
I’ll appreciate all suggestions ..
A: Craigslist is probably your best bet for a decent deal because for the most part you are dealing with private parties in your area. However this can have some drawbacks as well. I’d certainly reccomend getting ANY used car checked out before buying it. The $40 it’ll cost you to get a mechanic to look at it is well worth it because if you buy it and it has a major problem you’re basically screwed.
You also might try autotrader.com, that site has both private and dealers on it, although it seems most of the adds are usually from dealers. It’s a little easier to find specific makes and models on this site because it basically lets you refine your search to whatever make/mode/year/price, whatever that you want, but of course when you are dealing with dealers you will always pay more than you should.
goodluck
Q: what’s the best way to find used cars in Illinois?
I’m a student and looking for an inexpensive auto which could help me to get to my classes on time. Can anyone suggest me some good webs for used cars for Illinois and nearby ?
Or any better idea for buying used cars in Illinois and nearby area?
Thank you..
A: DK, I bought a used car in North Carolina last year and saved some cash. Try visiting several used car lots in Illinois. http://www.findusedcardealer.com/Illinois-Used-Car-Dealers.html
Q: We live in florida & also have a house in Illinois. Can we register different cars in different states?
have florida driver’s license. But keep a car in Illinois.
A: You are supposed to register the cars in the state they are garaged. Same goes with insurance.
Q: Can anyone tell me the name and location of the place in illinois where you can build and race rc cars?
It is a franchise business where you can build and race remote control cars that is in illinois.  I believe that you can also build planes and helicopters as well.
A: hobbytown usa. is the name, st charles il, (630)587-1256.. is that by you? ther is ALOT in il.
Q: What are the laws regarding Underglow (Neon) for cars in Illinois?
I wanted to get some green underglow for my car, but is it illegal? If it is, what are the penalties?
A: Can’ t be used legally when vehicle is moving. Illegal lighting.
Q: Is there a recession of sales law on cars in Illinois?
My parents, who are in their 70’s and somewhat confused, bought a $35,000 car without talking with my sisters and I first.  They have some significant medical bills coming up as my dad is having a major surgery in less than a week. They cannot afford this vehicle at all.  My family and I are in shock they did this and are wondering if there is anything we can do.
A: Unfortunately, if you are not a financial power of attorney for your parents, and they are fully in control of their own lives, there is little you and your family can do.  They are adults, and they have every right to decide what will happen with their money – even if it is a bad decision.
Q: neons underneath cars in illinois?
im planning to get some neons for my car but im worried about the laws in illinois, would i get pulled over?
A: best way to find out the answer to this is to drive to a local police station and ask them before you do it.
Q: can l make money selling cars in Illinois that l buy in New Mexico?
I want to go down south and find a car that is not rusted out, and bring it up north and sell it for a profit. Is this a good idea?l have traveled around the states.What about buying a car in Mexico and driving it up here?
A: cheapest used cars in ny nj area/cant bring them in from mexico/new mexico yes/more expensive than ny-nj area
Q: Is there a difference on sales tax on cars in lake county vs. cook county illinois?
Is it cheaper in some illinois counties to buy a car?
A: There is a great inquiry system to see what county tax would be: https://www.revenue.state.il.us/app/trii/
Q: Has anyone been to Best Cars of Illinois?
i am thinking of buying a car from there and wanted to know that they really do check the cars and stuff
A: Nope but i hear they have good people that work there!
Q: Why do cars from Illinois have cheaper prices then any other cars?
I live in GA,Recently i been trying to buy a car, and i noticed that this car is way cheaper then any other car, and it had like 50,000 Miles on it!! it was for the price of a 150,000+ Miles car. the person who sells it tells me that the car runs good, and thru SquareTrade we do business, and if i dont like the car as described i can return it in 3 days, have any of yall heard about this website and this kind of deal and about SquareTrade. the perosn just told me he really needs the mone now because he went thru this surgery,and is trying to sell as fast as possible. Oh also he said the car hasnt been thru any severe weather. so im wondering.. and now hes selling the car from FL. he said he just been up in Illinois several times but kept the car in the garage. the car is a 2000 model
A: Anything is a possibility. I do suggest that you get a carfax on the car. But just so you know that carfax only shows you stuff that has been reported to the vin. I the car has been in a miner fender bender, the owner might not have taken it to a repair shop that will report on the vin. I live and sell cars in Illinois. It is quit possible that the person selling does not know the market. Good luck. Check kelly blue book value for the city he lives in in Illinois. That will tell you if our market swings lower then yours does.
Q: Does Illinois State permits Driving cars with Indian license for 90days on arrival from India?
Anyone entering US for the first time , is he allowed a grace period of 90days to take an US driving license. Till that time is he permitted to drive in the state of Illinois with a valid Indian Driving license?
A: No, but you could utilize an International Drivers License.
http://www.idlservice.com/
Q: does the three day return policy apply to used cars in Illinois?
I purchased a car and took it back the same day within an hour the check engine light was on. the dealer said they fixed the problem but yesterday it came back on I took it to a parts store to run a diagnostics on it they told me to take the car back it will cost upwards of $ 400.00 to fix it. I have had the car in my possession only from 4:00PM April 21 2006. it is now 3:26 PM April 23 of 2006. The paper work on the car says as is. So do I have a legal right to return the car and get a refund of my money? I have put a little over 70 miles on the car
A: it is my understanding that the “cooling off period” does not apply when you purchase the vehicle at the dealership.  Many places in IL offer a one month or 1,000 mile warranty on power train or the big stuff.  However, your seems to be an as is deal.  Maybe you could ask them to pay for half and do the work themselves? Don’t know if there is a good alternative for you, because you will never prove that the vehicle had been rigged for the light to go off before purchase or not. Best of luck!
Q: Is there auto ferries between Hawaii and the West Coast because I see cars with Hawaiian license in Illinois?
where I live and as you all know that Hawaii is off the West Coast hundreds of miles in Pacific Ocean. So I would like to know is there ferries between Hawaii and West Coast or is there other ways to carry the cars over.
A: No ferries.  People ship their cars via container ships, or large cargo aircraft.
Q: Donated cars to low income People in Illinois?
Is there anywhere in the Chicagoland & South Suburban area where people on public aid or low income people can get cars? In other words where can you pick up donated cars?
A: in  our state they say goodwill donates cars.
A: I don’t know much about Illinois but I know about being a kid with a truck. While I’m sure the kid would love the truck a question of safety comes to mind. Kids tend to drive fast (not all do) but a V8 with 345 horsepower certainly is not discouraging. Furthermore, pickups are top heavy and therefore easier to tip. I’ve been in bad situations in my truck but at the same time it has virtually no blind spots and is the easiest to parallel park.
Q: Illinois automobile sales tax?
I am going to buy a car from Missouri and I have to pay my taxes in Illinois.  The car is a 2005 and costs 27,400 and my trade in is 19,500.  I owe 12,760 on a loan for my current car so that takes the new car down to 20,660. What can I expect to be paying in sales taxes? Btw my zip is 62258 if it matters. Thanks alot!
A: If you bought it from a dealer, you would need to fill out RUT-25 and pay any tax due before you can title and register the vehicle.  It is a multi-part form that cannot be download, so I cannot see what it lists.  That would be used to calculate tax due minus any sales tax paid in the other state.  Instructions are at http://tax.illinois.gov/TaxForms/Sales/RUT-25-Instr.pdf
Or if you bought it from a private party you need to fill out RUT-50, and there is definitely no trade in allowance in that case.  So sales or use tax would be $1250.00 (for a value $25,000-29,999.99).  That tax chart is http://tax.illinois.gov/TaxForms/Sales/2010-RUT-5.pdf
You can get RUT-25 or RUT-50 at a driver’s license facility or currency exchange.
Q: Is it required by law for a car dealer to disclose frame damage to the seller in Illinois?
Is there any law that covers the purchaser of a used car in the event a car dealership did not disclose known frame damage before the sale in the state of Illinois?
A: They have to disclose anything they know or could reasonably be expected to have known.  They knew..
Q: forclosure or short sale: in illinois?
1. would there be any effect on my credit card, credit score?
2.  how will i be able to save money after the forclosure/short sale?  Will the bank take my money from saving’s account?
3.  if i’m currently financing a car, would the bank take it from me?
4.  I owe two houses- will the bank be after my 1st house bec. of forclosure/short sale?
5.  Will I owe any difference from doing either forclosure/short sale?
Thank you so much for your input …Just having a hard time making my payment for the 2nd mortgage.
A: In either a short sale or a foreclosure action, your credit score is going to take a very serious tumble.  Given that you are speaking of a second house here, the lender may NOT be willing to ‘forgive’ the deficiency amount on that mortgage, and is not required to do so.  If your equity basis in your other property is high, they may come after you for the shortfall.  Chances are low that they would go after your automobile, since you probably owe more than the auto is worth (given the regular depreciation of cars)
If you have substantial savings, that will also factor into any lender decision to obtain a judgment for your deficiency amounts.
In summary, if you have sizeable assets, the lender will discover that and may seek a judgment to recover its FULL investment.
Q: I filed for an annulment. Is he entitled to anything?
I was married on August 30th, and I left my honeymoon on September 1st when my husband became violent and caused $4300 worth of damage to my car.  We never lived together as we’d only started dating July 12th.  I was pregnant and had an abortion September 12th.  We tried to reconcile after, and I did not tell him about the abortion.  He ended up leaving September 30th after a few days.  I filed an annulment on October 7th.  A couple of days prior to the response period ending without him filing an answer, we got back in touch and once again tried to reconcile.  He stayed at my house Tuesday night through Friday afternoon.  I’d told him about the abortion, and he told me he slept with a close female friend that I’d previously thought interfered with the relationship. Anyway, he left Friday while I was at work and supposedly had his parents help take his stuff out of the house that he was going to move in.  Today when I spoke to him he got angry and said he had records, was going to clean me out, and was entitled to half of car sale money as I sold my mom’s car a couple of weeks ago.  I noticed some wine glasses missing from my kitchen, which prompted me to look upstairs. My savings bonds were solen, bank account information was all over, and my social security card is missing.  I filed a police report.  He denies it to me and blamed it on my neighbor or mom (who is in the hospital).  He never contributed one cent to our lives, and he failed to respond to the petition for annulment.  I guess he could motion to vacate an annulment judgment and open a divorce case. I did schedule a hearing for a default judgment later Friday.  I live in Illinois, equitable property state.  I did not ask him for a dime, even though he put all the wedding money into his name.  But can he really get anything?  He says half of my things are his.  He hasn’t contributed one cent to my life, and our relationship just turned a total of four months old, from our first date to now.
I recognize my mistakes.  I feel so dumb and stupid.  I let him back into my life this week because I was feeling lonely about my mom being in the hospital.
A: Well, you have made several poor choices.  Get a good lawyer or kiss it all goodbye.
Q: Auto suppliers want US government bailout. It was only a matter of time. Your thoughts?
by Joseph Szczesny Joseph Szczesny – Sun Feb 1, 12:36 am ET
DETROIT, Michigan, (AFP) – Auto suppliers are preparing to head to Washington to ask for government help in surviving a deep slump in car sales that has slashed the production of new cars and trucks to the lowest level in a generation.
“We’re formulating our position and the scope of what a potential ask might be,” said David Andrea, vice president of Original Equipment Supplier Association, which is expected to handle the petition for the supplier companies.
Suppliers had already asked for help in November when Congress was considering a bailout of cash-strapped General Motors and Chrysler, who were granted 13.4 billion dollars in loans.
Since then, the situation has worsened as US production was slashed by 36 percent in December and is expected to be down even more in the first quarter after GM, Ford and Chrysler halted nearly all production in January.      http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20090201/bs_afp/financeuspoliticsautosuppliers
Edit:
“We know the money is available,” Fisher said.
The list of companies cutting production also continues to grow.
Mitsubishi announced it was closing its assembly plant in Illinois until May and Nissan, Honda and Toyota have all ordered cuts in production at their US plants until they are reasonably sure that inventory won’t pile up on dealer lots.
Yeah, the money is growing on “trees” called the “American Tax Payer.”
A: Most Republicanoids want American manufacturing to be wiped out.
They ought to get the money, how can cars be built without parts? And it’s not their fault if the industry has been so seriously hurt by this recession.
The survival of American manufacturing is critical to our national defense. ?°)
Q: question about buying a car with no title?
i am looking at a car to buy with a blown motor. heres the deal. the towing company i would buy it from has no title. the guy that owned the car signed a bill of sale and everything to the towing company and is now gone. how can i go about getting a title for the car. the towing company said they have the bill of sale and everything for it except for a title. they said i can apply for a duplicate. but how can i do that? the car is in illinois and im in wisconsin.
A: You should also consider that such a car may be expensive to insure. Check your insurance rates before buying one, for example here – carinsurance.yoll.net
Q: Does the insurance company owe me sales tax on my totaled vehicle?
Our vehicle was rear-ended 3 weeks ago by someone insured by Farmers Insurance.  My car is unrepairable.  The insurance company offered me the NADA value of the car but no sales tax, license transfer, or title fees.  I live in Illinois and thought that 50 Illinois Administrative Code Part 919 said that I should receive this.  The insurance company states that code is only for their insured, not the party hit in the accident.  Can anyone offer any help with this?
A: You are owed the tax etc in ILL on a total loss.
The Farmers Insurance adjuster is either a rookie or an idiot. Do not settle the claim until they agree to pay those items.
I strongly suggest calling the claims office and find out who the adjusters manager is and talk to him/her to get this straightened out.
Q: Wisconsin buyer to buying a car in Illinois, but seller says finance company has title?
Buying a 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche private party from a gentleman in Peoria Illinois. It was his late fathers vehicle, and he has power of attorney. Vehicle has a payoff of $11500 at his fathers finance company.
Scheduled to pick up vehicle on wednesday 03/10/2010. claims finance company has directed him to provide bill of sale, copy of fathers death certificate, and to let me know once monies received they will issue title with lien release.
seller wants cashier check filled out to HIM, and he will send in payoff amount, and receive title which will be overnighted to me.
I trust this guy and can tell its not a scam, but common sense tells me the cashier check should be filled out to finance company and seller(believe seller wants it this way to prevent having overage funds held by finance company, payoff 11500 bought for 13500, so he doesnt want 2000 in their hands and waiting for refund)
what I propose to seller is two seperate checks one for payoff and one for remaining difference of 13500, and for him to attain duplicate title to sign over day of transaction.
should i insist new plan or is it normal for title issues in illinois
finance company is not in area, and he trusts his finance company but wants the money now, not a month from now
seller claims lender is from out of the area and cant have title ready. will certain verbage in bill of sale protect me? such as seller is to provide clear title no later than 04/01/2010????
this is a legit transaction, just want to cover my bases
A: You should also consider that such a car may be expensive to insure. Check your insurance rates before buying one, for example here – carinsurance.yoll.net
Q: I just bought a used car with no plates andan out of state title (wisconsin) im residing in Illinois?
I just bought a used car with no plates and an out of state title (wisconsin) i been in Illinois as a student for 3 years (driver license still Minnesota). I plan on going to the DMV with the bill of sale and the title; is that enough for this process to go smoothly?
A: In Wisconsin, the plates stay with the seller. so as long as you have a valid title, you should be ok.   Just take it to your DMV
Q: I bought a car from Illinois and I live in IN.. do I need a sales receipt when I plate it?
I bought the car used from an actual owner; not a dealership. The cops already came and checked the VIN number .. I need to plate it tomorrow but I was told I had to get a sales receipt or something from the owners in order for me to plate it… The price isn’t on the title because they don’t do that there… what should I do?
the only time the cops check the VIN here is when you live in IN and buy a car from ILL .. I don’t know why but they do
A: In most states you need a bill of sale to register a car. You cant get a plate without registering it.
You could fake one I suppose.
I cant understand how the cops came & checked the vin. They don’t do that here.
Q: going to small claim court in Illinois cook county?
First when i filed a police report for the guy that hit my car they gave me the address to the person that owns the car but the house is for sale and no one lives there. Is there a way that the police can find the persons actual address so i can file a small claim case (i have the persons cell phone number but he refuses to give any information). Also how much does it cost to file a small claims case and what happens when that person doesnt show up for court?
A: In Cook County the busiest court district in the world – you may not get the personal service you want.  The Sheriffs will try to serve it at a last known address – you will have to hire a private process server who will work a bit harder at serving your court papers – a Judge will not issue a warrant in this case in this county or state.
This will be your only way to serve the individual
Q: Returning a car in Illinois?
One Saturday, I test drove, inspected, negotiated for 5 hours and decided to purchase a V6 crossover SUV demo unit with about 4,500 miles on it somewhere in Illinois.  After the paperwork was done, I drove the vehicle home.  Didn’t use the vehicle on Sunday, the next day, Monday on my way to work I decided to check under the hood out of curiosity, I discovered that they gave me a 2.4L instead of a V6 as originally inspected and negotiated.  They basically pulled the old bait and switch trick on my.  Who would have thought that a brand new car dealer would do such thing after the vehicle was already inspected and the paperwork signed. So I returned the vehicle the following Wednesday because there was a storm Tuesday prior.  So I left the keys to the sales agent and left the vehicle on their lot and went home.
The next day, they actually harassed me by frequently calling my home and work saying that they will tow the vehicle back to my home or office and they will let me pay the towing charges.  When I was ignoring their calls for the past days they are luring me back by giving me a “better deal” (after harrassing me) only if I give them a voided paycheck and a copy of my pay stubs.  I came to realize that they cannot file the loan because I did not give them any of the requirements which explains their sudden change of heart.
When I returned the car to the dealer they told me that I cannot return it and that the only way they could change the vehicle is to trade me out of it thereby I will lose money.
There is a “no cooling off” period in the contract and there is no buyer’s remorse on purchase brand new vehicle in Illinois but I believe my case is fraud and not buyer’s remorse.
What is the best thing for me to do so that the dealer cannot screw up my credit?
I believe the financing for the car hasn’t or could not be filed because the dealer is desperately using a bait by offering me more discounts and lesser monthly payments if I turn in my proof of income requirements ASAP.
Nothing on the paperwork says that the vehicle is a 2.4 or a V6. Secondly, they indicated on the buyer’s order that the car is brand new and not a demo unit. Which is kind of impossible for them to justify since the odometer as well as the documents say that it already has 4,500 plus miles on it. By the way, demo units are considered as used units and should be indicated as such on the paperwork. These information among others, I believe are basis for fraud.
It’s really a shame that new car dealers pull of these kind of dirty tricks probably out of desperation caused by the bad economy. From where I come from, car agents/dealers give us the actual if not the exact same model that was test driven and inspected prior to the paperwork.
A: You will have to look at the VIN on your contracts. If the VIN on the contracts you signed match the VIN on the paperwork, then there isn’t anything you can do unless the financing falls through. If the VIN does not match, then you can take the car back and demand the vehicle matching your paperwork.
If you dropped the car off at the dealership, they can have it towed way at your expense since it’s your car. The dealership can not screw up your credit anymore since you now have a loan. If you default the loan, then you will hurt your credit rating.
It’s a shame what is going on in the New Car Business lately however with so many dealerships going out of business, things will improve as the crocked dealers fall to the wayside. I would check all the paperwork and verify it with the car. If all the numbers match, then getting a lawyer will most likely be useless since it’s all in writing. Good luck and I certainly hope you can get your situation resolved..
Q: What is auto sales tax for Schaumburg in Cook County Illinois?
New cars only please.
A: Sorry Albert, that the only answer you got in 11 hours was from a smart alec!
I’m pretty sure Cook County sales tax rate for new cars is 7.75%
(I could be wrong, I haven’t worked in Cook for years)
I know Kane county is 6.5%  & Dupage is 6.75%  & Kendall is 6.5%.  And I know that Cook is higher than all of them.
If you need an exact % , just call any of the new car dealers in Schaumburg & ask a salesperson .
Q: Mechanic and Car with no title for sale — should I buy?
Mechanic on craigslist has a car up for parts so I bought a part and upon talking to the mechanic I was told that he would sell me the whole car for parts (because the motor was “blown”) for only 400.00 and I would only be signing a bill of sale. Apparently, the mechanic says that his customer (which must have been from Illinois from the designer plate) and the car has been sitting in his florida garage for a while because his customer just left it!!! The question is should I buy this car without a title if the mechanic must own it and will sign a bill of sale?
When I buy this car and am told it has no title, can I go to the Florida DMV and register the VIN in my name and obtain a title and what does it cost?
A: “Alvin” is wrong. If that was the case I could get a title to any car I wanted. If the shop wishes to sell the car, they need to do it legally. They would have to get a mechanic lien and then obtain title. A bill of sale does not establish ownership. Pass on this.
A: CHICAGO — Among the things Chicago wants to be known for, having the highest total sales taxes of any major city in the nation is probably not one of them.
But that’s what it’s getting after the Cook County Board voted early Saturday to double the county sales tax to 1.75 percent, raising the city’s cumulative rate to 10.25 percent. That compares with rates in New York and Los Angeles that are below 8.5 percent. The next highest rate in the country is in Memphis at 9.25 percent.
Q: I bought a Land Rover from a dealership.?
It had an former owner that owed money on the car, but we agreed to do sale thru a Chicago dealership. I paid my agreement in full. Will former owner affect how long I wait for my title in mail from secretary of state IL?
A: You should also consider that such a car may be expensive to insure. Check your insurance rates before buying one, for example here – carinsurance.deep-ice.com
Q: What should I pay for a used 95 Subaru Outback with 128k miles in good condition?
95 Outback128k mi   asking price: 3750
A: remember its a 13 year old car now,their asking way too much for it,i wouldn’t put over 2500 in it if that,it would have to be really nice and have a real good maintenance record with it,even then putting that much in to it is a gamble,id try and get the price of it down some if possible,good luck with it,and have a good new years.
Q: Car Address change not reporting?
I bought a new car in April in Chicago (I was living there for last 3 years) for 23000 dollars and I paid $1500 in taxes (got tax credit from my trade-in), while all of a sudden I got a new job in California. I had to move, and when I went to California DMV they are charging me 1400 dollars for getting a Cal. license plate. But I already paid taxes in Illinois and just in two months I again have to pay sales tax on my car. I don’t understand why. Can I claim refund of Sales tax from Illinois since I am not using the car there anymore? Also when I informed my finance company about the Address change, my monthly installment shot up by $60 dollars due to taxes. Can I tell my Finance company that I have moved back to Illinois and decrease my monthly EMI back to old? I have proof of address for my old Illinois address in terms of bank statements, credit cards etc., which I can show if needed.
A: It is simply harassing you. Clear everything and also make them sure that you have done everything right.
Q: Should the US government take our tax $ to give one company owned by foreigners, unfair advantage over another?
The US government is giving Chrysler money to buy old cars for $4500 towards the sale of a new Chrysler. Chrysler already took many billions of $$, foreign interests have pretty much been given a huge chunk of the company and certain politicians  supporters more of it.
This will hurt Ford’s business, a company who stayed afloat taking None of our money at a time when things have been very hard for them.
Isn’t this extremely twisted and wrong? Not to mention taking our money to just give away to individuals who got part of the company for nothing, but being political ally’s, and others for supporting one business over another because of cheaper prices paid for by US to support favoritism for one company over another.
How would you like it if you worked for Ford and your job was put in jeopardy over this? Or if Obama just decided he liked a competing company better than the one you work for and decided to give them a competitive advantage?
It’s not like this isn’t already going on. The tarp money is being used to support friends of the administration and hard foes. To bail out banks Senators have interest in that don’t qualify. To help some banks steal other banks assets and leave their stock holders with nothing.
WHAT CAN COME OF ALL THIS?
I’m telling you, if this doesn’t stop we will all be working for the government. Directly or by large corporations owned or otherwise controlled by the government. Like everyone in the health care industry. Insurance industry, Auto industry, energy industry, Banking industry, home industry, farming industry, media, State and Local governments are being given money and controlled by the feds as well. If these people are not pushed back, the government will control your medical, your job, make it impossible for you to start or own a small business or any way of making a living not controlled by the federal government. They will control your thermostat, where your children go to school because they will ally with teachers unions to crush private and home schooling, and they have made it evident that the alliance with the Union is more important than children’s education when they scrapped a hugely money saving (saved 45% off the cost of public education) voucher program that got kids in DC out of horrible dangerous schools with terrible results in education and helped them into private schools with excellent results  and a nice environment for the children in stead of dangerous, but the alliance with the teachers Union was more important than the children’s safety, the quality of the education, and the huge money they were saving on the program. That has to tell you something.
The Obama’s have also profited richly when Michelle Obama devised a program to shove the poor out to crappy clinics so the rich could have better access to the nice facilities in a University Hospital in Chicago. There is a congressional investigation underway started by democrats and involving the extremely leftist democrat Bobby Rush.
This is not about what’s good for you. The Obama administration is not about what is good for the poor, but they are elitists who align with the rich and lie to and use the poor for political support to help their big support in the circles of the world’s elite billionaires. Yes, the world’s billionaires, people like George from Belgium who hates  the position of the US in the world and seeks to bring down our standard of living, while he and his billionaire friends, the ruling class and the Oligarchy they create are of course above all those rules and restrictions they place on the little people.
Take a really good look at what you are getting here. You may also want to take a good look at how the people have ever fared in a popular uprising involving taking from one group to supposedly give to the masses.  The poor screwed the producers in the country, got a little to start and keep them going, and it ended up with the extremely rich and the governing class getting it all, those with enough money getting out, and the poor stuck in much worse conditions than they started with. Russia, Cuba, Burma, Germany (under the National Socialist Nazi Party) Iran, and so many other examples around the world.
When the government takes control and there is no one to stop them, they will never look out for the little guy, ever. They take it all for themselves and their friends. That is where we are headed people.
George = George Soros, didn’t get that last name in.
Will, You are Wrong, or Dishonest. The Federal Government is not giving the incentive to Ford. Why is it democrats without an argument invariably turn to lies? And invariably don’t really have a good argument? This is not a partisan thing.
A: It is absolutely unconstitutional. The duties of the Federal government are laid out and they are not to push outside of those limits. Obama is an enemy to the constitution, but it’s not just democrats. There is a conspiracy to set up an Oligarchy by and for a cabal of Ivy League graduates and many of the extremely rich in the world, like George Soros, you need to really check his record. Convicted in Europe for currency manipulations and booted out of more than one country. He is the tip of the ice burg from Europe, and there are middle eastern interest, Oriental interests and billionaires from all over the world who are beyond laws and borders you will NEVER hear about.
This is an attempted culmination of a plan to pluck the US and put it under the domination of a world wide Oligarchy. To them we are live stock and they don’t think we deserve such a quality of life as we have here in the US. The live stock can get by and survive to fill their purpose on much less, and be much less trouble that way.
Q: Do you think you can answer those!?(dont look them up!!)?
1.THE TWO DOORS:  You approach two talking doors.  One door leads to the City of Truth, while the other door leads to the City of Liars.  You do not know which door is which.  You are able to ask only one qustions to determine which door is which.  The door that leads to the City of Liars always speaks lies, while the door that leads to the City of Truth always speaks the truth.  You want to go to the City of Truth.  What question do you ask to determine which door leads to the City of Truth?  Note***The doors will not answer questions about physical things (i.e., “is it raining right now?” or “what is my name?”)
2.THE THREE LIGHT BULBS:  A windowless room has three light bulbs.  Three switches are outside the room, and each switch operates one of the bulbs inside.  If you only can enter the room once, how can you determine which bulb is connected to which switch.
3.THE SLOW-CAR RACE:  Mr. Rodrigo and Mrs. Golden agree to be involved in a special car race to Chicago.  The catch was that the LAST car back would be the winner.
We both started out very slowly towards Chicago.  We decided to stop for gas and think about how to win this race.  Suddenly, an idea popped into our heads.  Once we left, we both drove as fast as we could to Chicago.
What was the idea that we both came up with and why did we drive so fast to Chicago?
4.THE MAN IN THE ELEVATOR:  A man lives on the tenth floor of a building.  Every day he takes the elevator to go down to the ground floor to go to work.  When he returns, he takes the elevator to the seventh floor and walks up the stairs to rach his apartment on the tenth floor.  He hates walking so why does he do it?
5.WHAT A SALE!:  You walk up to a hardware store and see an interesting sign in the window:
1 for $3
12 for $6
200 for $9
1510 for $12
What item is this sale for?
6.THE PERSON IN THE HOSPITAL:  Walter spent three days in the hospital.  He was neither sick nor injured, but when it was time to leave he had to be carried out.  Why?
7.THE WORKING WOMAN:  Every day, Beth travels 30 miles in the course of her work.  She doesn’t travel in a wheeled vehicle and never has problems with traffic, the police, weather, or airports.  What does she do?
8.THE TIRE TRACKS MURDER:  The police found a murder victim and they noticed a pair of tire tracks leading to and from the body.  They followed the tracks to a nearby farmhouse where two men and a woman were sitting on the porch.  There was no car at the farmhouse and none of the three could drive.  The police arrested the woman.  Why?
A: 1. Ask either door, “If I ask the other door which door leads to the City of Truth, what would it tell me?”
2. Leave one switch off, turn a second switch on for a while and then turn it off, turn the third switch on and keep it on.  Enter the room.  The lit bulb matches the third switch.  The cool bulb is the first switch and the warm bulb is the second switch.
3. I don’t know this one.
4. He is too short to reach the 10 button on the elevator and can only reach as high as 7.
5. I don’t know this one.
6. Walter is a newborn baby.
7. I don’t know about this one, but maybe she is an animal such as a horse or a mule that works pulling a plow or turning a wheel in circles.
8. Since it is a pair of tire tracks, it is probably from a bicycle.  The police see a woman’s bicycle at the farmhouse, so they arrest the woman.
Q: What do you think Fraud rings steal Puerto Ricans’ identities for sale to illegal immigrants?
SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) – Born in a U.S. territory where he has lived all his life, Jose Marrero Rivera didn’t know his name and social security number were racking up thousands of dollars in unpaid charges in Chicago and Miami.
The snack bar worker is one of thousands of Puerto Ricans caught up in a lucrative document-fraud scheme to hide illegal immigrants in the United States. They’re American citizens with Hispanic surnames. And their records — kept loosely in schools or church rectories, where they are easy to steal — draw as much as $6,000 on the black market.
Only when police showed up at Marrero’s San Juan airport food stand to arrest him for car theft did he realize that identity thieves were upending his life.
“All the information, all of it, the driver’s license, the Social Security, my address, was mine,” he said of the warrant. “I was shocked. I told them simply that it wasn’t me.”
Documents stolen from Puerto Rico have shown up in fraud-ring busts in Delaware and Ohio and immigration raids on meatpacking plants from Texas to Florida. No government or law enforcement official can put a dollar amount on the illegal trade, but documents are so valuable that addicts on the island trade their own documents for drugs.
“Birth certificates have become legal tender,” said Kenneth McClintock, Puerto Rico’s secretary of state.
The island government’s only answer so far is to void every Puerto Rican birth certificate as of July 1 and require about 5 million people — including 1.4 million on the U.S. mainland — to reapply for new ones with security features. New birth certificates will be issued starting July 1, and all old birth certificates will be annulled by Sept. 30.
But no one can guarantee the mass inconvenience will solve the problem. Untold numbers of passports, driver’s licenses and other documents issued to holders of false birth certificates are still valid.
The law only aims to make it harder to get false documents in the future, but does nothing to target those already in circulation. And a person holding a stolen birth certificate could conceivably apply to receive one of the new ones, which will have special seals and be printed on counterfeit-proof paper — though they would have to present other personal data that they might not have, McClintock said.
“We had to take drastic measures,” he said. “The new law does not pretend to solve all the problems. What it aims to do is resolve the massive theft problem.”
The problem stems from the Puerto Rican tradition of requiring birth certificates to enroll in schools or join churches, sports team or other groups, which keep them in unsecured offices or drawers. The new law voiding all birth certificates prohibits such groups from keeping copies.
“I think people noticed that no one was paying attention to those documents,” said a Puerto Rico-based FBI agent on the cases, who requested anonymity because the agent works under cover. “In the future, this could be linked to everything, even terrorism. I don’t doubt that it could go that way.”
A: Not very good we could have another 9-11
Q: Anyone heard of a used car scam with the seller located in Scotland?
SellMyCar.com has a listing for a 2005 Cadillac CTS, a $19-$24K luxury vehicle available for only $8100! We emailed the buyer & were told that he is “working in Aberdeen, Scotland,” but he can arrange the purchase for the vehicle since it’s located in Houston, TX. Sounds too good to be true…he wants to have the transaction handled through WorldPay only. We copied & pasted the VIN# of the car listed and found that it was also posted in the Chicago Topix classifieds for $10K! This guys making money by taking deposits via WorldPay and NEVER COMPETING THE SALE – BUYERS BEWARE!!!
A: This sounds like the well-known eBay and craigslist scam.  It’s always someone in London or Europe who has an incredible car for sale at a discount price.  Some people actually fall for this.  Some people are not that bright.
Q: Move to chicago for college: Are my figures reasonable?
I graduate high school in May 2009 and plan on moving to Chicago. I was accepted into a community college. The main reason I think I can afford it is because I wont have to have a car. My car + Insurance = 230 a month. Here is what I’m thinking:
Car0
Ins0
Transit75
Rent450
Misc223( 200 + sales tax of 11.25)
Total748
The minimum wage will be 8.25 when I arrive, or very soon after.
748/8.25 = 90.6 hrs/mo or if I work 20 days: 4.5 hrs/day
I’ll skip some more math but I would prolly want to work 6.15 hrs/day
and have 49flexiblele $ each month.
(1) Does this sound reasonable, am I missing anything important or is anything wrong?
(2) Will it be easy or hard to find a job in Chicago? I jusdon’tnt want one in food.
(3) is it okay to have work, college, and apartmenspreadad around since there is a subway or should I keep them really close together? Like can you travel across town really fast?
(4) What else do you think I should know?
when I said 49flexiblele $ I ment 490$
A: You need to add in food, cell phone, will you have cable or internet in your apartment? clothes, miscellaneous household needs, savings, recreational money, etc. Also, you’re saying rent of $450, I’m assuming you’re planning on having a room mate because you definitely won’t find your own apartment for that amount and even with a room mate if you want to live in a “nice” neighborhood I’d say to budget more like $550-$650 per month. I’m assuming you’d be splitting a 2 bedroom and they’d be about $1100-1400. For $450 you’d probably have to be splitting a 1 bedroom, maybe even a studio. If you want to live right downtown it will be at least double that.
Finding a job probably WON’T  be easy.  It took me about a year of searching just to change jobs even with a decent amount of work experience. Do you have retail experience? You said anything but food so I’m assuming you might want to try clothing stores or electronic stores or something. Even retail is cut-throat around here. Most places will pretty much toss your application if you don’t already have retail experience – even if you have customer service experience like in a restaurant or fast food. If you haven’t already worked in a clothing store, etc, they’re unlikely to consider you.  I went to school for fashion merchandising and couldn’t get hired for a fashion/retail job until my senior year. Office jobs are likely out of the question because they definitely don’t consider people for those jobs unless they have like 2+ years experience. The restaurant jobs will be fairly easy to get because they have high turnover rate but still competitive.
I suggest you live close to school and work. I live in Chicago and my commute time is 1 to 1 1/2 hours to and from work riding the busses and trains.
Q: Do you agree with the bill passed by the state legislature regarding permenant Chicago mass transit funding?
Last Thursday,  the Illinois general assembly passed legislation providing perminant funding for the Chicago area.  That is, after governor Rod Blagojavich placed a stipulation giving out free rides to the elderly.  In my opinion, that free ride clause should be reserved for low income residents who cannot afford a car or cabfare, let alone full priced fares on CTA, Metra, and/or Pace.  The way it sounds on paper, it sounds like we are giving away some…..and I mean some rides away.  In the long run, I say a small sales tax increase is a small price to pay to ensure I can go to work, the movies, shopping, or out and about in general knowing I am not contributing to traffic congestion and creating more greenhouse gasses.  I want to know what you think.  Speak on it.
A: In my opinion, the permanent funding was a great benefit, considering Chicago has one of the best mass-transit systems in the country. Do I think free rides should go to the low income over the elderly? My answer is no. Because than you would have to define poor. People would not be satisfied because people would complain about making $10.00 more than the limit. They would want to know why they were not included. Everybody consider himself or herself to be poor, especially when a gain is at stake. Anyway, many seniors are neglected and have no one to provide for them, properly. I think they should have free rides in order to make it easy for them to provide for themselves.
Q: car run on water is it possible?
what is best deal for  cars run on water where to find in chicago area any tips and right suggestions please if any one used let me know the best product on sale
A: Sure,
Here is one that does  http://www.amphicar.com/history.htm
Also links to where you may be able to buy one.
I doubt that is what you are looking for though.
Q: registering your car.?
hi
i want to register my car in delaware.
am moving from chicago..
i know there is no sales tax in delaware…and
mine is a used car bought in illinois..so how does tax works for me,when i register my car in delaware
A: Merely registering a car (in any US state) does not require paying sales tax.  Sales tax is assessed on sales, not on registrations
Q: Which career opporutnity do I accept?
I am 25 years old and I am currently employed with a corporation as a sales manager in California which I have been with for two years. I have been interviewing with two companies to bring me back to Chicago and both companies offer cars and equally good benifits. I have two offers on the table and I really need advice which route to take.
Career 1:
Company will give me an existing territory of $10,000,000 that consists of Illinois, Indiana and Michigan. They will also put me through their in house training “University” which will look like a PHD in the industry for these products. This company is the largest manufacturer of these products in the world with limit-less possibilities of promotional opportunities within. The problem is that the salary will be the same as my current job through the 6 month training program which then I will get a $5,000 pay increase on my salary. This company also offers a yearly bonus up to 40% of the salary which could turn out to be a total of $95,000 (salary+bonuses) in the beginning years of my career. Lastly this company has a huge product offering and the best technical support in the nation.
Career2:
Also a mulit billion dollar corporation, but a small division within the company that is relatively new to the industry. This company will start me with no existing business but extra $7,500/ year on my salary with quarterly bonuses up to 25% of the salary for the year. I will also have a larger territory which means more travel as well. With this company there is only one product line to sell.
The issue is that money is really tight and the extra $7500 a year on the salary will help out big time in comparison to the other opportunity. So which would you take the guarenteed long-term career with promotional opportunities, more money in the long run and the education with existing business with a smaller salary or the more up front cash on the salary with no existing business with a large company with a division in the early stages? I am so stressed out about this and I really need advice! Thank you
A: the first one hands down. It is very rare to get training on a job these days and i like all the benefits included. The education you will fain from the house training will help you in future jobs should you choose to move on
A: Gee, none from my hometown, the second largest in the state.
Hey, did you know that Hawaii has an Interstate road system?
Q: What lense combo should I get for my DSLR?
I plan to get a D80 soon and I want to get the best combo of lenses up to 300mm. I shoot year-round, but my two big events are the Chicago Auto Show and football games in the fall. My seats are 4th row endzone
Been looking at compact zoom 28-300 lenses since that would give the widest range. I could get a close shot when the play is in my endzone or I could zoom when the play is between the 50 and my endzone. What are the downsides to having a 28-300? I see a Sigma for sale on eBay BIN for $239 and Tamron BIN for $329. Is the Tamron worth the + $90? I know I’ll need an additional lense wider than 28-300 for shooting cars, but I won’t have to worry about that until next January.
I currently have a 100-300 AF lense for Nikon that locked up on me last year at a baseball game. It will soon be off for repairs and I will sell it if I get the 28-300. My other two options are to keep the 100-300 and get a D80 with a 18-55mm or an 18-135.
Summary of my options:
1) Keep the 100-300 and buy a D80 with the kit 18-55
2) Keep the 100-300 and buy a D80 with a 18-135
3) Sell the 100-300 and buy 28-300 plus a wider lense later.
I appreciate any and all of your .02.  Thank you Yahoo! Answers!
A: Keep the 100-300 and get it serviced, and consider the 18-135 as I think for what you seem to what it would give you more flexibility (not having to change for a shot 55-100). I’ve not had good luck w/the auctions, are they selling due to some sort of damage? etc. Good luck!
PERIOD.
Q: Does any one in or around Bloomington,Normal,Illinois have a cheap running car for sale ?
Hi single mom here just had my car break down on me for good if you have a cheap running car for sale in or around Bloomington,Normal,Illinois let me know please i need one to get around town  thanks very very very much.
DOES ANY ONE KNOW ANY ONE WITH ONE I HATE WALKING IN THE HEAT !
A: No I do not have a car….How ever, I do happen to have a NASA grade space shuttle for $2000000
…..awww what, come on, that’s almost f****** free!
Q: Illinois Car Sales Tax?
Complicated situation..
I bought a car few months ago and it got totaled.
I paid around $1,500 for sales tax when I registered my vehicle.
The car is total loss but I still have my license plates.
Right now if I were to purchase another used car would I have to pay sales tax again or can I just use my license plate from the old car and just pay like a title fee
A: Yes, you can transfer your plate to another car, but that won’t affect the fact that you will have to pay taxes on the purchase price.
Q: does anyone know where i can find a good car for sale between 3000-4000?
I am looking for a car for sale in illinois or northwest indiana i want a car years 2000- to present  and under 100,000 miles i have found a few cars fitting that criteria but they were not that apealing to me
A: NEVER EVER EVER buy a car on ebay without inspecting it first.  make sure you know what too look at in a used car its not just age and mileage. if you want to buy a car that is fairly new (under 5 years old) and you see the price tag is quite low (3-4 Gs) be very wary about them. when attempting to purchase any used car i suggest you look for the following.  Look at the under belly of the car if you see any part of the car that looks damp (oil leaks, coolant leaks, ect..). Also look at the oil level if it is too low or too high the car might have a blown head gasket (cost about 2 grand to repair).  if you see the oil level is too low or too high look into the coolant tank if you see the coolant has a darkish brown color then the car definatley has a blown head gasket DONT BUY THAT CAR!.  Next thing turn on the engine and rev it up high (not redline but close) then look under the car if you see anything dripping take note of it.  when test driving the car make sure you turn off the radio and check for any strange nosies, also notice how the car shifts, if it jerks in shifting or makes strange noises while shifting then dont buy the car  transmission repairs are very expensive.  if you look out for these issues you have a much better chance of purchasing a a good used car that will not give you much trouble in the future.  i recommend you look for grandma cars they are the absolute best used cars can buy. Good luck!
Q: anyone in illinois have a cheap car for sale, something that runs good.?
email me with info & pics if you have them at adamcookie28@yahoo.com
A: http://geo.craigslist.org/iso/us/il
Q: i am looking for cheap cars for sale by owner.?
the cars have to be near mascoutah, illinois. let me know
A: Try your local newspaper classified ads or auto trader.
Q: To which state does a buyer pay sales tax on a car purchased in another state?
I am interested in purchasing a car for sale in Illinois, and I am an Indiana resident. Sales tax here is 7%, but 10.25% where the car is. I will register the car in Indiana if I buy it. Which sales tax will apply to me if I purchase the car?
A: You pay tax where you register it.
Just make sure you don’t pay the dealer where you buy it.
Q: golf carts for sale?
where do you fine golf cars for sale in Illinois
A: http://golfcarportal.com/db_listings/Illinois.php.  Here is a list of some dealers in Illinois.  I am sure that there are quite a few more.
Q: how do i sell car with lien private party in Illinois?
**posted by me for uncle- i am buyer**
trying to sell car with lien to nephew in wisconsin. his bank wants title at time of sale, my car note lender wont release title until check is received. My bank is HSBC in california, no local branch.
how can i do this?
A: You cannot sell a car with a lien.  It is not your car.  It belongs to the lien holder.   The only way is to pay off the loan, then and only then can you sell it.
Q: Does a bill of sale finalize a car deal?
My friend bought a car for 3200. It was running perfectly fine and minor dents on it. You can say it was in great condition. It turns out that the car had a salvaged title on it before but now it had a regular title here in Illinois. I know what salvage/rebuilt titles are and nothing is really wrong with the car but my friend might have some insurance problems eventhough the car has a regular title now. Since he signed a bill of sale, is the deal finalized or can he do anything about it if the car is to malfunction?
A: You have gotten some good answers already, and also some terrible uninformed answers:
First, there is NO 3-day grace period for automobile purchases in any state in the U.S. It’s a common misunderstanding.
Second, lemon laws don’t apply to used cars, only new cars.
Third, if your car has a normal title in the state where you register it, there should be no problems related to that title.
Forth, a bill of sale is a legal document. Even though the car isn’t technically yours until you have the title and registration changed, any seller could take you to court for breach of contract, if they want to. Used cars are generally sold “as-is” which means any problems found AFTER the sale are your problems, not the seller’s.
Q: Where can I advertise the sale of my car locally, inexpensively?
I need to sell my car ASAP, but don’t have tons of cash to advertise all over town.  Where, in downstate Illinois, can I adveritise my SUV for little or no money?
A: www.livedeal.com
Q: If I buy a car in illinois but live in Toronto Canada do I pay lillinois taxes? The dealer is saying yes. ?
I am in canada and want to buy a van at a honda dealer (used car) They are telling me I have to pay their sales tax to pick up the vehical.  That said I would only be in the state for 1 hour then back to canada.  Is this true?  Where could I find out the answer?
A: If you buy it there then yes you have to pay taxes on it.
Q: Can I use my state’s bill of sale to purchase a car in another state?
The reason I ask is the last time I bought a car, I bought it in Missouri with a MO bill of sale and registered it in Oklahoma. I then had to transfer it to an OK bill of sale to register it in OK and MO has been bothering me every year about why my car was never registered and why I haven’t paid taxes. I am now possibly going to buy another car in Illinois and was wondering if I can just bring a blank OK bill of sale and have it notarized at the bank or would I have to do the same thing and have it transferred and fight the state of IL for the same reason?
Yeah, I know it sounds stupid, but I hold residency in Oklahoma, but I live in Missouri (Military), which is why I bought my current car here in MO in the first place. The car I’m trying to get is pretty hard to get a hold of especially in the color that it is in and it’s in IL, so I’m willing to drive all that way to get it.
So, if I use an IL bill of sale and register it in OK, how do I keep IL from bothering me?
A: You can get each state’s compliant bill of sale form at { http://www.legalformsbank.biz/billofsale.asp }
Q: what is the sales tax for a used car in Illinois?
A: 6.25% plus any local taxes if you buy it from a dealer, and a sliding scale based on price and year if you buy it from a private party.
http://www.revenue.state.il.us/Publications/Sales/STS76.PDF
Q: How can I be sure an email address is legit?
I posted a car for sale on craig’s list in tampa but, somehow got a response from Illinois. Everything so far smells like fraud.
A: I got an idea, maybe someone in Illinois wants to buy your car.
That’s crazy talk
