cars for sale chicago

“Around Palos Hills”

A: Palos Hills is in Cook County. Your best bet is to call the sheriff’s office and find out when and where they auction off the squad cars. Hope this helps.

Q: does any one have a car for sale in the chicago land area for under $1500 dollars and is under 90,000 miles?

A: Check out put in $1500.00 for max.

Go to the car auction, but check the car out before the auction, pop the hood check the oil (is it clean or black), tranny fluid (if its black the tranny’s had it), is the engine fairly clean or a big mess under there, if the inside is a total disaster too it means someone didn’t care less about the car. Take it for a run around the yard. Just because you are paying big bucks doesn’t mean you will get a better car and the other part too is a car could have only 90,000 miles on it but be in worse shape than a car that has 150,000 because the owner made repairs, did regular oil changes etc. Check out the tires too.

Q: Does yahoo have a shipping center in Chicago, IL, where cars are inspected before being posted for sale?
Anybody has any experience with transactions of this nature with yahoo (via the shipping center in Chicago, IL)?

A: Yahoo does not have any shipping centers.

For any used car you shoudl check the history via Carfax and get a mechanic to do an inspection.

Q: what is the sale’s tax for buying a car in chicago?

A: If the vehicle is titled and registered to a Chicago address, the total tax rate is 8.500% .

Do you know y it is illegal?
yeah police here is baddd..corupt..

Q: Need help avoiding Chicago and Illinois Sales Tax on new car?
I live in Chicago most of the year, have IL Driver’s License and Insurance. My dealer will price the lease for Michigan taxes by showing some bills in my name sent to Michigan. Will I be able to get Michigan plates based on this information?

A: Kizzy above me is wrong. If you are not a resident of the state/county/ city that you buy the car in, you must pay any taxes to your state/county/city of residence. People who live near a state line know this all too well.

I’m not sure that you can/should do this. Each of us has a “permanent, legal residence”. If yours is in Chicago, merely showing some bills in your name sent to Michigan probably won’t work because that is not your permanent legal residence. I believe since you have an Illinois drivers license and insurance, red flags will pop up all over the place if you try this.

Q: Help, What legal actions can I take on a lemon car deal in Chicago, IL?
I bought a used car from a Taxi service, after 10minutes of buying the car it died on me (fuel pump) the mechanic said he would fix the issue but has failed to and keeps giving me excuse after excuse about completing the repairs. I would like to take legal action , I know that a seller can not falsely state that the car is in running condition when it is obviously not, I bought the car nearly 10 days and i do not have a running car or my money I would like to sue for either the car back in running condotion or my money back I have proof of sale and I know that I could sue and have the contract reversed or nulled . what steps should I take at this point to make the mechanic take me more serious and know that he can not pull the shady mechanic routine on me, what steps do I need to take what type of lawyer do I need? I have heard that a call from a lawyer canreally get a mechanic to take notice or a call to the state attorney, thanks you guys

A: Illinois does have a “new car lemon law” known as the Illinois New Vehicle Buyer Protection Act. However, this law only pertains to new cars and only covers a defect that remains unremedied after four or more repair attempts by the seller.

There is some protection for used cars depending on how it was presented at the time of sale. You must first ask yourself what representations were made by the seller when you purchased the car. Any representations made by a seller are governed by the Illinois Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act. The second question is whether the car performs as you thought it would when you purchased it from the seller. In other words, if you bought the car with knowledge that it was defective, then the law cannot help you unless the seller misrepresented the car’s true condition. This area is governed by the Uniform Commercial Code and the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. The final question is whether the contract itself is unfair or one-sided and whether the seller’s behavior was abusive. When a contract for the sale of goods is negotiated, both the buyer and the seller must have an equal bargaining position. A seller would have the unfair advantage in a negotiation if, for example, the buyer does not understand the provisions of the contract, the buyer cannot read English, or if the buyer feels intimidated by the seller. The law protects the buyer in these situations under the Consumer Fraud Act and the Uniform Commercial Code.

If you bought it “as is” (which is the usual scenario), fix the fuel pump yourself and remind yourself not to buy without having your mechanic check it out first ever again.

Q: any chevy caprice for sale in chicago with 24 inch rims?

A: try ….(pick your city)… it rocks

Q: Donating a car to charity in SW suburbs of Chicago?
I would like to donate my car to a charity, however, I am looking for a charity (recognized by the IRS) that will actually use the car instead of selling it. I believe I could deduct the FMV if someone were to use it instead of selling it because the sale price will probably be a lot lower than what the car is worth.
Does anyone know of a charity in my area that could use a car?

A: yes i know a child focusing charitable organisation in africa with the name:
for more information about the organisation you can visit :

thank you n

Q: Can I Sue And Press Charges? (Scam Involvment)?
Okay So This Might Be Long but ima summarize it LONG Story short. then the email posted below.

So I Was Looking for used cars online. and i found a 06 Honda Accord for $3, only had 24k miles and leather interior! i thought it was to good to be true. so i email the guy then he emails me back saying he was going through some events and left to Moscow Russia and that he needed to sell his car quick. so i was ACTUALLY buying this. then today in the morning i recieved ANOTHER Email from another ’seller’ he was selling an 05 Maxima for $2,856 with leather Interior and low miles. so now that 2 people emailed me i snapped and knew it was a scam..specially since the maxima seller gave me a link to the photobucket site and there username was “maxx050″ which im like. if they are scaming me? why the hell would the but the first 3 letters of the can and the year? and the x0 to cover it up?

anywho. it’s only been emails at the moment. nothing *no money* has been involved. but i know for sure if i keep talking to them they’ll scam me with the cars and all…

Here is the site from where i learned it was a scam.

P.S. its the very first one under Attention Seller.

and here is the message he sent me Via Email.

And one more thing. Wtf? read the first sentence and see how he put “my nameS are” then his name…wow..bad bad scammer *nods head*

—————————Email Starts Here—————————-
Sorry for the delayed response my names are ***** ****, but I’m in Moscow (Russia) right now and I have been very busy.Anyway, thank you for your interest in buying my 2006 Honda Accord EX. The car is located in USA right now and has US papers. Why is the price so low? I am going trough a hard time with my job, and I had to move out of USA I cannot register the car here, as it is made for USA, according to USA standards. So all that I want to do now is to sell the car at this price, because I need to sell it fast(I already made a deposit here to buy another). The title is clean and you will have absolutely no problems to register the car in the States.I will tell you a few words about the car..
My car has automatic transmission it is in Alabaster Silver Metallic condition with 24,467 miles and have the VIN number: 1HGCM66506A032197 , rust free , no scratch and hasn’t been involved in any accident. The motor runs very well. The interior looks great(NO SMOKING).This car needs nothing, the title is clear ,it is not a salvage one. I want this transaction to go smoothly enough as I am caught in the middle of some very important events and have little time at my disposal. I already have tons of emails so I hope you understand that I need to sort them out. The car is like new, in perfect conditions, accident free, no scratches, no special marks, no need for additional repairs what so ever. a genuine road runner ready to be yours, but only if you shall understand and you won’t make me loose time as it has already happened to me.
Here are all the photos of my car in the attachment below. The pictures are recent, and they were taken right before preparing the car for sale. The car is exactly as shown in the pictures.
The price is $3500 USD THIS IS MY LAST PRICE.I will not negotiate the price.I will take in consideration only those buyers who are really interested in buying the car ,to be sure that I don’t waste my time with endless discussions. This way,I shall be assured of the serious intentions .
Before leaving I had prearranged shipping and also the payment with eBay motors. so my presence in U.S isn’t necessary(The car is locked in a eBay motor warehouse Chicago ready for delivery). The price of car $3500 includes all the shipping costs and insurance, so you won’t have to pay any extra charges. Here is what I suggest: we will use eBay which acts like a service , you make a deposit in an eBay managed trust fund ( they hold the money until you receive the car ), and send the car over( the car will be delivered with the title, owner’s manual, 2 sets of keys, service records, and of course the bill of sale authorized and signed by me),I will offer a 5 day period from the day you receive it from the shipping company, you can inspect it, take it to a mechanic to check it out, drive it and then if you decided to keep it, you’ll confirm to eBay motors the sale and they will send the payment to me. If, by any reason, you will not be satisfied with it ( even though I can assure you that it is exactly as described), you can return it at my expense for a full refund of your money, no questions asked.I think this is more than fair for the both of us.
NOTE: The deposit (down payment) is refundable, and is just a security measure, to make sure that you are serious, and that I am not going to ship the car, and loose time and money. If you are interested to go ahead with the deal, please reply with your full name and full shipping address

A: This is just a take off on the Nigerian money scams.

There isn’t a car for sale. They will try to get as much money as they can from you, and the car will never be shipped to you.

He writes: “…The car is locked in a eBay motor warehouse Chicago ready for delivery…” Hello…eBay doesn’t have ‘motor warehouses’ in Chicago or anywhere else.

Just delete the e-mail. There’s no one to sue, and no one to charge with a crime.

Q: $4000 yr 2000 Honda Accord. Do you think this is possible/believable?
I got this reply when i emailed the individual seller about this custom made 2000 Honda Accord with 15,000 miles.

The car is still for sale and is currently located in the shipping company warehouse from Chicago, IL. I posted the car for sale all over US(nation-wide add), so maybe you see it on other location, this is a full package from the selling website for more exposure… The price is $4,000.00 the title is clean and ready to be registered under your name, i have the car from my former husband as he lost it in the divorce trial and i have no use of it as it is a fast sport car and i want a smaller convertible, it will be a great experience for you, guess my husbands loss your gain, the only thing is that i want to have a quietly vacation after this divorce and i want to avoid headackes and complications, so i want to involve eBay Motors to participate in this transaction and supervise the payment and shipping it through DAS. In this way i have someone do everything for me and things are simpler, shipping it would not be a problem i will take care of it through DAS Express Shipping because i have some advantages and it would cost me very little, plus i want to take care of handling and insurance myself to make sure everything goes smooth and the car reaches you in the exact condition i am sending it and that is IMPECABLE and shpping taxes will not be added extra to the original price so $4000.00 will be everything you pay to have it delivered to your door. If we use the eBay VPP services you also have an inspection period prior buying the car. In this way you will have the chance to inspect the car before pay me, and I will be comfortable when I’ll ship you the car. Let me know if you want to move forward, in order to open the transaction with ebay
I will need your shipping address in the following format:
Receiver Name-
Street Address-
City, State, Zip Code,
to forward it to the authorized personell from eBay to start the transaction so you can buy the car from me. If you want photos or more infos about the car just ask me and I will be glad to provide you.

Does this seem like a scam or something? Are there any ways that this seller can steal money or rip me off?
Thank you people so much. Im glad to have fully confirmed my doubts.
definitely a scam. i got an email back saying that i go can’t see the car until 4 weeks later, and by then it’d be already sold. Obviously a scam.

A: IF its actually thru eBay you’ll find the car listed on the eBay motors site
if it is? check their feedback and only use paypal for your payment

but I feel this is worded ( spelled ) oddly like as if the person is in a foreign country and ready to scam you

Q: Paid 6,000 dollars for a car,and he told me i had to pay 7.5 percent sale tax.How much more will i be paying?
I live in chicago,ill

Q: I’m looking for a good independent car audio installation (and sales) shop in the SW suburbs of Chicago?
I want a shop with guys who know what they are doing to pull out and old radio from my father in law’s 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 truck (its an aftermarket radio but he bought the truck as a repo and doesn’t have the face), and put in a new radio for it. It needs to be done right and I don’t want to deal with Best Buy or Circuit City. If you know somewhere in southern cook county (Orland Park), or Will (near Lockport), or even DuPage (especially Naperville), let me know, thanks.

A: Take your pick.
